Is season three of True Detective happening? Variety reports Deadwood creator David Milch will help develop season three of the HBO TV series.

True Detective has been in limbo since its second season ended in 2015. Earlier this year, HBO boss Casey Bloys said series creator Nic Pizzolatto was still generating ideas for season three.

According to Variety, Pizzolatto has settled on a story for season three and Milch will collaborate with him on the scripts. HBO has not yet confirmed this news and season three of True Detective is reportedly still in the very early stages of development.
