Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

You need to bring V back it’s not fair to cancel a great show just when it was finding it’s feet. It’s especially ****** that you canceled it without finishing the story lines a cliffhanger is no way to leave us and then cancel it. YOU SUCK BRING BACK V FINISH THE STORY
I’m sure that if all of you who loved the series would put your money where your heart is and actually pay for that time slot and buy up ad space, etc., then ABC would be just tickled to entertain your enthusiasm for the show. Unfortunately we live in reality where viewership and ratings = money. No money equals no show. Face it… relatively few people were finding it watch-worthy, and ABC is a business not a charity 😉
Aww just watched the remake of V very enjoyable the sad thing is they cancelled making a third or fourth series. I wish they would cancel the reality TV rubbish we get on TV week in week out all the same thing with different programs name the mask singer ,Britain got talent ,X Factor ,the voice and the Voice Kid it’s utter and complete garbage ok Cilla Black Shows did have fun and amusement but not anymore it’s Junk
I think that in 2011, people were not ready to believe that the reptiloid alien race had actually lived on planet Earth for many millions of years. But in 2020, this is no longer a secret
ABC sucks!!!!!!!!!!! be patient to the show V is nice to follow… damn it… give us back The V….
The last straw ABC. I will no longer support networks that do this. I am referring to the cancellation of V. I stopped watching shows on fox for the same reason. You cancel without finishing the story. Basically don’t give a **** about the viewers. I loved ABC since back when the theme song was still the one and I cheered for you in battle of the network stars. I’m done with you.
This reboot was well conceived and full of intrigue, but alas as most really good sci-fi TV series that ABC produces (anyone remember Defying Gravity?) it was cancelled too soon. It’s really sad that TV Networks like ABC, CBS, or NBC don’t even have the decency to take the time to give fans/followers some closure by trying to have some the story arcs (like in V) reach a full ending, like say with a 2 or 3-part episodes finale. Is it any wonder why more tech savvy folks out there use VPN’s and don’t even bother with cable packages anymore… Read more »
I need to know what happens next, people! why do you make a show if you cannot finish it ?! This sucks ABC!
“V” was amazing and I don’t understand why they stoped it ABC you truly suck…
Like really truly do. At least tell us what happened next.
ABC you suck, I’ll never support you again for canceling this show. This is why I have not watched TV in years. Listen to the public sometimes. Your “Low ratings” was a ******** lie. The V series should come back. If not by you, another network.
Sorry it was cancelled. Every episode held my interest, I would have liked to see the good guys win more. Plus the unity among the good guys was important. You had too many of them betraying each other. People like too see strong characters standing up for right and good, sticking together. A little too much graphic & bloody violence.
I just watched the last episode on Tubi… Maybe television is our bliss, feeding us emotion. Ending the series might be a good thing, turn off the tv and go outside. 🙂 (I’m mad there is no Season 3)
Cancelling ‘V’ was a bad decision. Just as it was getting interesting, finding its feet, it was not renewed. Poor choice.
Season two of V was fantastic we need season 3 please
Abc,can suck my ass ,this is a good show then you want to cancel it rite when it gets to the good twist,if I had the money I would make the 3rd season my self ,ass holes,,,
V should have never been canceled! I can’t forgive abc for not being able to see the ending of a one of a kind series!!!
>_< LAME abc! LAME! I seen this also on Tubi and was soooooo mad to fin out it was canceled REALLY ???
ABC you used to be an awesome network. Now instead of setting the standard you run and hide or too quick to act like chicken little. Start growing some and bring back some good shows. Anymore its crap because you are too desperate to please everyone. V was off to a great start including some of the older cast in. The possibilities were endless. Such a stupid group making decisions for that network today and when this show came out years ago. I finally got to sit and see all episodes on Tubi! Will you ever learn ABC? On the… Read more »
I’ve never heard of “V” until I just saw it on Tubi. I can’t understand why the series would have been canceled after 2 seasons??? It is starting off really good. If I had of known about the series in 2009, I would have watched. Some station needs to pick this back up.
