The peacock network has reportedly ordered three more episodes of Whitney, their sophomore sitcom. This will bring the show’s current season total to 16 episodes. NBC previously ordered five scripts.
Whitney was renewed for 13 episodes last May and was initially scheduled for a Friday night run. When Animal Practice was cancelled, NBC changed their plans and scheduled it on Wednesday nights at 8pm.
While Whitney hasn’t been a great performer for the network, it does out-perform some of the other comedies on the network and does better than Animal Practice did.
The four episodes that have aired this season have averaged a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.96 million total viewers.
What do you think? Do you like Whitney on NBC? Do you think it’s better or worse than the network’s other sitcoms?
I would be EXTREMELY disappointed if this show were canceled!!!!! I’m an avid fan! This comedy is not only hilarious, bit it’s super refreshing and incomparable to the monotony of these boring sitcoms! Best of luck Whitney and Chris, we’re rooting for you
My wife and I are in the high end of the ‘desired demo’, and we both not only laugh our assed off watching this show, we can’t believe what they get away with! Hope they give it a full season too!!!
I don’t get it, why are so many people have a bad bone to pick with this show? It’s a very funny show, and it’s a lot better than 30 rock, The office, The new normal, Go on and Parks and Rec. So really WTF? I hope they order a full season.
Ugh. This show show reminds of Herpes.
