It’s looking like Wipeout is all washed up on ABC. The competition series hit some lows in the ratings last summer, was left off the schedule this summer, and now, it’s been removed from the network’s website.
On Wipeout, contestants try to make it through the “world’s largest obstacle course.” The person that makes it in the shortest time wins a cash prize. The program is hosted by John Anderson, John Henson, and Jill Wagner.
The show’s ratings have been coming down over the years and the seventh season was no exception. The 12 episodes, which finished airing in September 2014, registered just a 0.97 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.52 million viewers. That was down about 10% season-to-season.
Some assumed that the show had been renewed because applications were being accepted for a new version of the show called Wipeout Extreme. However, it’s worth remembering that it’s not uncommon for production companies to do that to prepare in case another season gets greenlit and needs to be produced quickly.
ABC hasn’t publiclly renewed or cancelled Wipeout but the network has now removed all traces of the show from their website. They could bring it back at some point but, for now, it looks like Wipeout is done on ABC.
What do you think? Do you like the Wipeout TV show? Would you like to see it return for an eighth season — on ABC or some other channel?

In Ohio, Wipeout was a HUGE hit with me and my freinds and family. It was one of my Fav Shows.
We loved that here in Florida. I really miss that program….it was one of the better programs on tv.
I think that wipeout should still be on tv it was a tradition that all of the family got to get her and watched it. Please bring it back
I have always enjoyed Wipe Out for many years. Now my daughter and I enjoy the show. We have missed the show this past year and we are hoping it will come back this year. There’s not many family friendly shows that I can watch with my daughter. This also gets us laughing! Love it and hope it stays on any channel!!
I used to watch it when i was younger. I lover the show so much. I always watched it with my family. It’s been like 3 or 4 years since i remember watching it. I’m 15 now. Brings back good memories. I always thought that when i grew up and was old enough that i would try and go on the show but now that it’s cancelled i’m a little disappointed. It was a silly little dream of mine to be on wipeout. Now that dream has ended.
We loved Wipeout and are so sad to have it end. The reason ratings waned amongst our friends (which most watched faithfully) was due to the objects being hurled at people instead of concentrating on the contestants abilities to overcome obstacles and their determination and persistence. It became more like a juvenile game of dodgeball. BRING BACK WIPEOUT! It was fun, entertaining and a show the entire family could watch.
