Almost Human: Cancelled by FOX, No Season Two

Almost Human canceled or season twoFOX has lowered the ax on Almost Human. The show has been cancelled after one season of 13 episodes.

Taking place in the future, Almost Human follows the partnership of a distrustful cop (Karl Urban) and an android capable of emotion (Michael Ealy). The cast also includes Minka Kelly, Mackenzie Crook, Michael Irby, and Lili Taylor.

The series started strongly in the ratings but the numbers declined over the course of the season. The season finale hit a series low with a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.6 million total viewers.

Almost Human was reportedly still in the running for a second season until recently. Apparently several of FOX’s new pilots are strong contenders for next season so network execs have decided to let Almost Human go.

What do you think? Did you like this series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?

It’s a shame that good shows like this keep getting cancelled. The show was really getting good and I was looking forward to the next season. This is the reason I stopped watching TV in the first place. So sad that real tv shows are being replaced with a bunch of dumb nonsense shows or reality tv. I have enough to deal with in my own life rather then watch a bunch of celebrities and there bs. SMH

I really enjoyed this show and I think it’s a mistake not to bring it back. It’s ridiculous that this TV companies are cancelling good shows like this after only one season but has no problem keeping dumb ass shows like a lot of these dumb ass reality shows. This is the reason why I stopped watching TV in the first place.

We will miss this show. For some reason it appears that FOX does not like science fiction shows. Firefox was another example of a show that was canceled even with strong fan support. We can only hope that Almost Human can continue with another network picking it up. It does make us not want to watch any new series until the second or third seasons after the network has committed to keeping them so we don’t get invested in something that will not be around.

you know, you got us started on Alcatraz, then stopped it after the first season, then Almost human the same way ! this is so annoying and disrespectful for some of us who don’t care reality shows game shows and whatever !! that is my take on this

I really enjoyed the show and was looking forward to the second season… Some unanswered questions about plot and characters ,,, the answers would be greatly appreciated. I thought the acting and story lines were excellent. VERY DISAPPOINTED! SyFy pick up this show!!

What an absolute shame. JJ Abrahms does amazing shows and this shouldn’t have been cancelled. Maybe syfy or hulu could pick it up. So impossible to find a good show these days. These were characters worthy of further development. No wonder fox sucks these days. Maybe the producers can make a movie of it to finish some of the loose ends like with John and Anna similar to what happened when Firefly was abruptly cancelled after one season. Though I am not sure enough people are fighting for this show like they did for Firefly.

Almost Human is a wonderful show. Why don’t you take some of the crappy ‘reality’ shows off the air and leave on this refreshingly different show. I’ll miss it!!

This is why I can’t get into fox shows. They cancel too quickly. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

I loved sitting down after a long days work watching Almost Human, and was exited to see what season 2 would bring. It upsets me that they didn’t at least give the show a chance by giving another season. As far as I am concerned they can stick there new pilot series up there you know what cause I have no intrest in watching them. I’ll just stick with the other networks that keep a good thing going like amc.

This is ridiculous. FOX Execs lost their minds! Almost Human is a really good show with great leads (Karl and Michael). How can The Following, with less viewers get renewed and Almost Human gets the boot? I guess they will fill the slot with two crappy comedies in its place.

I lived and loved this series .Very disappointed it was cancelled. The time and day and add current events left in a tough slot but it was a unique , sci-fictiony, cool effects, let alone the cast and interactions were awesome. The cast, sexy, hot. Something about all those manbots standing solemnly and in stare yet very sexy bots made this show a very sexy almost homoerotic series. Way too bad to see it end. All the writers and producers had to do was try it in another slot, or move it to SyFy, or add more violent nature type stuff and a little bit more sexy stuff; like the partner manbot said he was fully functional and equipped, even showing it to his human partner once, so maybe that manbot should have found a woman love interest and a man love interest to spice it up. If revamped like i said you may find a new following. Just. My. Opinion. Philip St.Louis, Mo.

I had never cared for the shows much on your network until my husband and i heard you had gotten Karl Urban to do a show. I think you are making a HUGE mistake by letting this show go so soon. Some of the best sitcoms started out with lower ratings first AND second seasons ! Look at seinfeld they sure did. Also it;s pretty obvious that an actor will only get more relaxed in their role and start making that charcter their own as they all get to know one another and get a feel for working with one another.Last of all I’m sorry if this sounds rude but you made a huge mistake letting an actor as huge as Karl Urban go so easy! Well i guess were back to surfing the dish net work all night or movies we have on dvd already .What were you all thinking?!! You had KARL URBAN for goodness sake!!
