FOX has moved their successful Bones series to Monday nights this season. Up against some even bigger competition, will the TV show still come out a ratings winner — or could it be in danger of being cancelled? We shall see.
This season’s cast includes David Boreanaz, Emily Deschanel, John Francis Daley, Michaela Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and TJ Thyne. The eighth season of Bones typically airs Monday nights at 8pm on the FOX network. There are 24 episodes.

Opposite some stiff competition from NBC, it wasn’t an impressive start to the season. Compared to the seventh season opener, Bones was down by 30% in the demo (vs a 3.3 rating) and down by 20% in viewership (vs 10 million). It’s worth noting however that last season’s debut followed The X Factor and this year’s opened the night.
Still, compared to the sixth season premiere, Bones was down by 15% in the demo and by 19% in viewers.
Reference point: The 2011-12 (seventh) season averaged a 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 8.07 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

After the horrible season finale in which they sacrificed the consistency of their characters for a stupid cliff-hanger that has many fans angry, I expect to see this one tank next season.
It should totally come back for at least 2 more seasons! I love BONES and it is one of my favorite tv shows.

Iam 67 years old enjoyed the best shows all over the world ,Bones is the most intelligent show in recent times humorous romantic amazing cast like no other informative has all the right ingredients for a successful show,the cast is mesmerizing how it all came together is a miracle ,of course the David Emily magic is the icing on the cake! Kudos to you hart and Stephen,but please stop torturing the couple with fights and shocking incidents please show more love, DW.
Bones is a great show. Yes, it should be renewed for a 9th and 10th wouldn’t be bad either. I can hardly wait from week to week to see what is going to happen with B&B and the rest of the cast. It is a drama fun show to watch. I have learned as well.

there are still many unanswered questions and interesting facts about the lives of the characters that need to be addressed. A 9th and a 10th season will be needed
Bones is my favorite show on television and I try to never miss an episode. Now with The Following scheduled after Bones it seems like an unbeatable combination. Great job FOX. Monday night is my favorite night of programming.
My husband and I love Bones. We think it has gotten even better since the baby and their cohabitation. The writers are doing a wonderful job of giving them some great stories and great lines. They are so cute together with the baby. Actually, we love every part of the cast which makes any story line interesting. We are new viewers since we started watching on TNT first but now we watch every new one on broadcast channels too.
Do Not Cancel BONES. The show has been on for 8 seasons and is still fantastic!! Bones & Booth are a Super team. I was afraid if they let Booth & Bones be a couple, that, they would cancel the show. So many other shows have done that. I think the writers of Bones, are doing a GREAT Job keeping the show intriguing and very exciting. The entire cast is fantastic!! Bones should definitely come back for a 9th season. Just getting good with the dynamics between Booth and Brennen. Need to quit moving it from time slots. Kept forgetting what night it was on and can tape it if needed.
Bones should definitely get a 9th season. It is still excellent. Booth & Brennan have transformed into a couple. The show made this transition successfully. My husband has finally started watching the show voluntarily. So there’s at least 1 new viewer this year! There are a lot more crimes that could solve and there are still a lot more questions about the characters to answer. This show deserves a 9th & 10th season! One recommendation – don’t take such long breaks. There are 3 bonus issues, but we’ve still had 2 long breaks this fall. Bones is my all-time favorite show (1960s-2012)! It would be renewed for 2 more seasons at least!
My wife and family love Bones its an outstanding program with just the right amount of drama and charactor interest amd fin, certainly all parts are very well acted and as normal people, we find we have withdrawl symptoms and always with a can’t wait feeling for the next episode or series with real interest and fun feel to the team.. Keep it going there are mot mamy programes in the same league. Gets the message across without some stupid hard ass attitude which spoils the plot of too many TV shows do all the time.
My wife and I pick out certain programs to watch regularly often based upon good writing, an interesting plot development, compelling and believable characters, and good acting. Bones provides an interesting blend of crime drama, character connections and humourous situations. It’s a fun show which helps lighten our mood and provides some information on forensic techniques. We both would be very dissapointed if it were cancelled and we do not see a viable alternative in it’s time slot.
