CMT has ordered the His Wives & Daughters TV show pilot. Press materials describe the potential new scripted series as both “soapy” and “comedic.” His Wives & Daughters centers on, “…the eclectic and cunning wives and daughters of larger-than-life country music legend (and infamous womanizer) Eddie Ray Banks,” according to the network.
In His Wives & Daughters, when Eddie’s “…estranged family is brought together unexpectedly, tempers flare and old rivalries resurface setting the stage for startling secrets to emerge as an unforgettable mystery begins to unfold.” The TV series pilot is created and produced by Dina Chapman and Steven Sessions, with Jayson Dinsmore and Julia Silverton as executive producers for CMT.
Chapman worked as a co-executive producer on Esquire‘s now-cancelled Best Bars in America TV series from 2014 to 2015. She is credited with producing other series including Kodiak, Tia & Tamara, Cheer, Party at Tiffany’s, Surprise Homecoming, and Texas Women. Chapman also wrote three first season episodes of CMT’s Billy Ray Cyrus sitcom, Still the King.
Sessions is also a veteran of Best Bars in America, Still the King, and Surprise Homecoming. He and Mark Mussina wrote the feature film, The Opposite of Sex.
Dinsmore is credited with executive producing TV shows including: Swamp Pawn, Inside Fame, and Party Down South for CMT. Silverton has executive produced Cassadee Pope: Frame by Frame and Cheer for CMT, Party at Tiffany’s for OWN, and Mario Lopez: Saved by the Baby for VH1.
His Wives & Daughters is currently casting, in advance of production, slated to begin this fall.
