Hit & Miss: No Season Two for DirecTV Series

Hit and Miss TV seriesSky Atlantic has opted not to bring Hit & Miss back for a second season. The TV show has been running on DirecTV here in the US. According to Sky Atlantic’s official statement, they only planned for the UK TV series to run for just one season anyway.

It reads, “Hit & Miss was commissioned as a self-contained drama. The series was the first UK drama commissioned for Sky Atlantic and the response from our customers and the press has been overwhelmingly positive. Following the success of this series, Sky Atlantic continues to be committed to investment in original British scripted productions with upcoming drama Falcon, and other productions which will be announced soon.”

Hit & Miss follows Mia (ChloĆ« Sevingy), a contract killer with a secret: she’s a pre-op transsexual. Mia’s life is sent into a tailspin when she receives a letter from an ex-girlfriend who’s dying from cancer. The letter reveals that Mia fathered a son eleven years ago. Faced with a difficult decision, Mia becomes the guardian to a new family, a choice that forces her to mix her killer instincts with her newly acquired maternal ones. Hit & Miss is the story of a lethal killer at the heart of a troubled family and how all of their lives are dramatically changed.

Others featured in the show include Peter Wight, Jonas Armstrong, Vincent Regan, Ben Crompton, Karla Crome, Reece Noi, Jorden Bennie and Roma Christensen.

The six episodes began running on DirecTV on July 11th and finished on August 15th.

What do you think? Are you sorry to hear there won’t be a second season of Hit & Miss? What would you liked to have seen happen?

I agree with everyone else, this show needs to come back and somebody needs to put money behind a PR campaign and this thing will blow up, you only had to see the 1st episode to get completely hooked. It’s brilliant!

It’s a shame cancelling this drama. It was amazing. There’s only going to be dark sky’s in Sky Atlantic’s future if they continue to make these types of poor decisions.

Such an amazing show! So disappointed to hear there is no second season. I hope they bring it back!

Actually, this mention of it being officially canceled is not true. The network said they want to bring it back, but due to company issues, they are not sure when it will happen.

If this is what Sky does, then should we ever watch anything from then in the future or anything from anf film company involved. The show is way better than the crap they put out now. To be hidden in plain sight and such a polar difference in one person. Just about every other female assign show is always over the top and plain stupid. She brings honest emotions to the show. It is the reverse of the “Warrior Princess”. The former SEAL did all his killing before his/her transformation.

So disappointed to learn this show will not be returning. This almost makes you not want to get involved in any new series. We need one more season , PLEASE!

I want a season two. My roommate and I really enjoyed it and don’t tell me they planned on having only one season. You don’t end a show with that last scene. They planned a season 2. Do it

This show was sooo riveting!! The actors were amazing!! How on earth could they end the show that way, and not plan on a season 2? This show has the staying power of any of the dramas HBO or Showtime have!!! Please please SKY make atleast one new season to wrap everything up, or a movie something because this is just BS!!

One of the best television series I have EVER seen. So very disappointed that this series is not continuing. BAD DECISION. All of the actors were outstanding. Super pissed off.

I was flipping through Netflix and found this series at 11:00 pm, and finished it early in the morning. It was fantastic. I couldn’t turn away from the television. At the end of every show, it left me wanting more. Really sad to hear it’s been cancelled. Hopefully it
will come back.

The show was well done, and the cliffhanger ending to make you sit on the edge of your seat for season 2… and then Sky says (even tho they signed most of the actors for a second season) we only planned it for one season”… they left a rather huge gap in the story by ending it that way, as it screams for resolution and continuance, not flatlining. You almost never see actors pull off parts so well… someone – A&E, HBO, Showtime – if they had any foresight would bid it, grab it, and show Sky what a grave error it made by canceling this show. They don’t even need to continue Sky’s obsessive full frontal nudity shots (yes, we get it, shes a preop transsexual, we don’t need to see genetalia in each show…), the story line makes it whats good. No, make that the story line makes it riveting.
