Though Stargate Universe was cancelled midway through its second season (the last 10 episodes will air in the Spring), executive producer Brad Wright thinks there’s a chance that the story could continue. Wright contends that, “We haven’t given up on finishing the story we started.”
Wright was traveling when the cancellation news came down from Syfy and is now looking for a way to continue the series in some form. Wright tells Chicago Now’s Curt Wagner that he and MGM, the studio that owns the rights to the Stargate franchise, are discussing several possible options. He said, “It’s heartening to see so many people upset about Syfy’s cancellation of the show but it’s important to remember that their license fee represented only a portion of our total budget.”
While this is positive news, its a long way from the show being saved. Based on what Wright has said, it would seem that a substantial portion of the SGU budget comes from other sources like DVD sales. A possible option could be to do direct-to-DVD movies but then, fans are still waiting for a Stargate Atlantis movie. The series could be sold to another channel but that’s always a tough sell.
What do you think? Would you like to see Stargate Universe continue in some form — as a DVD movie, online short videos, comics, or novels? Or, would you rather see one of the other shows in the franchise return in some way?

BRING BACK STARGATE ATLANTIS!!!!! I personally like the characters and story line better than SGU.
Damn right Stargate Atlantis was one of the best of the franchise it is sad to see it go , i loved all of Stargate and i wish they bring at least 1 of the series back
I think they should restart stargate Atlantis

great franchise, really think the producers should look into other options outside the networks, even a subscriptionary website for viewing oungoing series/productions. bypass the networks alltogether. direct to DVD would also be good, just probably mean longer waits for release of each new season. but all onboard!
SGU was a really great series with very talented actors bringing the story/series to life. There was always a sence of realism and desperation in thier struggles/journey. would really love to see how it all turns out!
Please continue the story there are so few shows out there to fill the wants of the sifi people we are out there and want to see more shows like this completed not cut half way through the show finish it.
SAVE THIS SHOW! I am devastated to learn that this show has been cancelled. My husband and I just recently found this show and have been catching up over the last few months (dvds)….just watched the final episode last night. SYFY – bring SGU back, we fans DEMAND it!!!
i am upset 2 w/the others i agree if it can b finished on dvd and any other means even if it means writing a book Also stargate atlantis could have gone on too as a show
VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED
I wish they could finish Atlantis in anything… I would buy it even If it were a thousand bucks each show… BRING ATLANTIS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
f***ing SyFy. You cancelled a good TVseries.
Pitty. You better cancel Vampires, Merlin or whatever crap you are showing instead.
The journey MUST go on! This is the first time i have found such a bright production and idea. The scenario might have some minor flaws but, eventually it is one of the best sci-fi productions ever since Star Trek.
Do the SyFy autorities know how many fans of these series are there on other countries? I’m from Turkey for example. I always dreamed of a ship like that since i was a boy, which will finally reveal at least some of the the secrets of the universe. I always gazed at the stars… One day this theme may come true. But apparently not sooner. So please let us live that dream on the screen. Please people who can imagine of greater things than sales&marketing, collect signatures or votes whatever and show that not all the people are fond of vampire and supernatural crap. Help. DESTINY AWAITS!

yes they should continue the SGU series on DVD or another network..it was the best SG franchise to AIR. perfect dialogue, suspense, action, and acting…yes it did start out a bit dry the first season..but it made up for it in the second completely. RESTORE SGU..its all about marketing, they didnt market the series correctly
I hope they do complete the story even if it is on DVD. I will buy them all no problem, I really enjoyed it, pity the people who make these decisions don’t give a toss about a mere 2 million viewers, not enough for them.
