Warehouse 13: Syfy TV Series to Be Renewed for Season Three

Warehouse 13We’ve been hearing rumors for quite awhile that Warehouse 13 would be renewed for a third season. THR now reports that it is indeed happening.

Warehouse 13 follows the story of two Secret Service agents (Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly) who’ve saved the President’s life. They are reassigned to Warehouse 13, a super-secret government storage area in South Dakota that holds supernatural objects, mysterious relics, and strange artifacts. Others in the cast are Saul Rubinek, Genelle Williams, CCH Pounder, Simon Reynolds, and Allison Scagliotti.

A renewal for the Syfy series doesn’t come as a surprise since it’s been very popular for the cable channel. Warehouse 13 debuted back in July of 2009 with a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.51 million viewers. The ratings for subsequent episodes fell off but the 11 episode season still averaged a 0.9 rating in the demo and 3.39 million viewers each week.

The show was renewed and returned for a second season of 12 episodes this past summer. Year two finished airing a couple weeks ago and the season averaged a 0.8 rating in the demo and 2.5 million viewers.

Now, Warehouse 13 will be returning for a third year. It’s gotten a 13 episode order this time around, its biggest one to date. No word on when they’ll air but another summer run is likely.

Syfy programming chief Mark Stern said, “Jack Kenny’s superlative leadership and the incredible talent of his cast and crew delivered an outstanding second season of Warehouse 13… We’re excited to see this successful series return next year and to developing our next hit with Jack.”

What do you think? Are you glad to hear Warehouse 13 is coming back for season three? Anything you’d like to see happen?

Love Warehouse 13! We should have more shows like this. The storyline is fresh and interesting and leaves you wanting more. All the stories are filled with mystery, especially all the goodies that are stored in the warehouse. I could watch 2 hours of this show each week instead of one hour. Every week we are treated to the various plots, twists and turns. Interesting how old artifacts are worked into the plots and the story is built around it. I like that the warehouse is endless and can’t wait to see what else is stored in there. All the characters are super! The two main characters are lots of fun yet are serious in their job. Can’t wait till the third series starts again!
This series reminds me of Indiana Jones and the Ark.
How about a romance between the two main characters and perhaps other members in the story as well? It ‘s a good thing you’re bringing Warehouse back – please let’s have more than one more season. Shows like this are very difficult to come by. Writers are very good! Please start the series soon!

Great Series do not take this one off the air like you did with “Farscape”

Sarg March 21, 2011 at 7:31 pm

My exact sentiments, Dropping Farscape was a bust with me.

Overall I think the show is fantastic! I love the character development and interplay. Despite the sense that it extends and modernizes an older show called ‘Friday the 13th’ – it takes a fresh and light hearted approach to the notion of powerful artifacts scattered about the planet that could endanger our very existance. But again, and most of all, I love the characters.

About time SYFI did something right, renewing WAREHOUSE 13 is the right thing to do. This show is one of my favorite shows. There is so many different ways thisshow can be taken and so many stories and episodes can be made and still be fresh. I would like to see more about the warehouse itself. I own seson one on dvd andlooking forward to getting season 2 when it comes out.

It’s contagious, not just sy-fy, great human interests and interpersonal relationships. I cried with MYKA when she left, I felt PETE’S despair to see his best friend, sister, and partner just drive away. This show/series is addictive, tell the general manager ar SYFY Channel to relax it will get a larger fan/viewing base as word is spreading on this fantastic series! If they failed to renew the third season another network would have picked it up to their anvantage on profit/income from sponsers.
