The executive producer of ABC Family’s 10 Things I Hate About You has confirmed that the TV show has been cancelled after two seasons. How quickly things can change.
Based on the film of the same name that starred Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Heath Ledger, 10 Things I Hate About You revolves around two very different high school sisters and their friends and partners. The series features the talents of Lindsey Shaw, Meaghan Jette Martin, Ethan Peck, Nicholas Braun, Dana Davis, Larry Miller, Kyle Kaplan, Ally Maki, Chris Zylka, Jolene Purdy, Allie Gonino, and Suzy Nakamura.
The series got off to a great start in July 2009 and ABC Family touted it as the cable channel’s biggest comedy debut to date. It attracted 1.6 million viewers and 734,000 in the coveted 18-49 demo. The news got even better by week four as the show’s ratings grew to 1.8 million viewers and 782,000 in the demo. Season one ended up averaging 1.3 million viewers.
To no surprise, ABC Family renewed the series for a second season of another 10 episodes.

Unfortunately, something happened between seasons one and two. When the 10 Things returned in late March, a lot of the show’s viewers didn’t. Thus far, it’s been averaging just 983,000 viewers. That’s enough for ABC Family to pull the plug, just 10 months after the show’s highly touted debut.
The show’s creator and executive producer, Carter Covington, announced the show’s fate on Twitter: “Sad news… ABCFamily canceled the show 🙁 Thanks 2 our AMAZING fans – U R the reason I do this! Enjoy the last 5 eps – they’re fantastic!”
The remaining five episodes of 10 Things will continue to roll out until May 31st. Since the cancellation comes as a surprise, there’s no word if the series finale will include closure or if storylines will be left unresolved.

Please bring this show back…I would love to see what happens…it cancelled at such a vital point where the audience is waiting…it isn’t fair to cancel and leave the audience wondering…
I agree, it is at the best part. I didn’t even find out it was gone until i read it in a magazine. ABC should have allowed 10 things I hate about you to continue until the end of the year or for one more season so it could come to a proper close and not leave all of these questions and situations unresolved!
i love the show 10 things i ahte about u i was wondering when is it coming back on the air to abc family i hope so … cuz seacson 1 episode 20 left u hanging in away i hope theres going to be a second season and or more 🙂
I was one of the people who absolutly loved the show first season but stopped watching the second, first of all there weren’t nearly enough promos and second of all, the characters change to much. Bianca wasn’t as perky or more like she was in the first season since she started dating joey and kat went from being tough and strong to being artsy. Plus they talked about sex to much. it went from being comedy-drama to being a horribly acted soap opera.
injust got into it and whatched all of the episodes. Now what do i have to look foward to i guess i will just have to end my life

PLEASE bring this show back!!!! It is soooooo much better than the other shows out there. Just like how Freaks and Geeks was – they never ever should have cancelled after 1 season. BIG MISTAKE!!!! Love Kat & Patrick!!!

I just discovered this show 2 days ago and have watched every single episode online. The principal cracks me up so hard! I was crushed when I looked to see when the next episodes would air and found out it was cancelled! Please bring it back!!!!

It was because they didnt advertise it like they do secret life, they advertise it every 5 minutes!!!! It just needs good advertisement!!!! it needs to be put back on!!!!!
I admit i wasnt one of d millions who watched it on tv. I just found this show weeks ago and i loved it, im still on the last 3 episodes, i watch it online:) i would be so disappointed if ABC will cancel the show:( bring 10 THIHAY back!!!
