Though the FOX network has fewer primetime hours to fill than other networks (15 vs. 22 hours), they’ve certainly burned through their share of TV series. Here are the ones that won’t be back for the 2007-08 season:
Drive – The Nathan Fillion series was pulled after four episodes. The remaining two will air on July 4th. Unfortunately, the road race won’t be completed.
Happy Hour – Fox aired three episodes in September and one episode in November before pulling it. FOX has said that 13 episodes have been completed and may be released on DVD at some point.
Justice – The courtroom drama was pulled and returned to primetime several times in 2006. Of the 13 episodes produced, 12 have aired in the United States. It won’t be coming back.
The Loop – The sitcom was given a 13-episode second season order but it was then reduced. The return was also delayed until June 10, 2007. It won’t return for a third season.
The O.C. – The network cancelled the drama series back in early January and the last episode was completed on February 2nd. The series finale aired on February 22, 2007.
The Rich List – This game show was cancelled after just one episode. The single episode aired on November 2, 2006 and was cancelled along with Happy Hour.
Standoff – The drama is expected to return on June 8th after a six month hiatus. There are eight unaired episodes from the first season. There won’t be a second year.
Vanished – Fox pulled their mystery serial drama after nine episodes. It was supposed to return but they opted to bring back Justice instead. The remaining four episodes were released online but few viewers felt satisfied with the storyline’s rushed resolution.
The War at Home – The family sitcom ended its two year run on April 22, 2007 after 44 episodes. There won’t be a third season.
The Wedding Bells – The David E. Kelly series was pulled after five episodes. Production was shut down after the seventh was completed. The two remaining episodes aren’t expected to air.
The Winner – Six episodes of the sitcom were produced and all aired to low ratings. The series won’t be returning.
Returning series include: 24 (renewed for two seasons), American Dad, American Idol, America’s Most Wanted, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, Bones, Cops, Family Guy, House, King of the Hill, MADtv, Prison Break, The Simpsons, Talkshow with Spike Feresten, and ‘Til Death.
Though Nanny 911 and Trading Spouses are not included on the Fall or midseason schedules, FOX has included them on their list of returning shows. Stay tuned!
HOW COME YOU CANCEL WAR AT HOME THAT SHOW WAS REALLY FUNNY PLEASE BRING IT BACK… AND ALSO BRING BACK FUTURAMA
The War At Home! What do we need to ban together and get FOX to reconsider their poorly thought out decision to cancel The War At Home??? This is a family show in our house that brings out great conversations about issues that every young person deals with!!! Our 8 year old even joins in on this one!
Bring back The War At Home!!!!
the war at home and the winner were the most original comedies in awhile. fox, let other networks have the rights if you dont want them!!! both these shows are the nest arrested development. best show ever
War at home was hilary-airhead dios
HILARIOUS.
The little side sequences you can almost predict, and the kids, as unreal as they seem, fit well –put it back on reruns at least so I can see them all.
Dear Fox
The War at Home was a good show. It was funny and interesting. I know it recieved negative reviews about kenny coming out of the closet but there are alot of shows that expressed Homosexuality. In the Sopranos Tony found out Vito was gay and they were making fun of him and in Will and Grace this was a gay show but it was funny. This show should have stayed. Please put another season of the War at Home because it’s funny interesting and a comedy.
Fox is so lame for canceling The War At Home (which was my favorite show since Grounded for Life). That really, really sucks! I also like The Winner (it was funny) and though I only saw the first two episodes I luved The Wedding Bells. Very Disappointing.
The war at home was FOx’s best comedy, i wud of thought they’l keep it and cancel til death(not sayin til deah was rubbish, it was funny but not as funny as the war at home)
To people hu want the war at home bak, write to fox and send them loads of points
I HATE FOX!
hey!!!!!!!!my boyfriend and i watched justice and love it. i thought it was a great show. i watched war at home and it was really funny. i think maybe if you moved around the time and hype it up it will do well. i think it came on fridays and that’s when people go out and have fun. please think about this and put it back on fox.
Whaat?! Fox cancelled Standoff?!! Why?!!! I love that show, dammit!
why the loop whyyyyyyyyy
Amy: WELL SAID!!!!! I agree 110% with you!
Standoff; Ron, Rosemarie, Raquel, Michael, Jose, Gina-They all deserve more respect than what they’re getting!
I don’t consider a series cancelled until they stop airing it. ‘Standoff’ is no exception here. Fox has yet to officially say that they have pulled the plug on this show.
Bottom line, ratings are everything right now! The first few episodes that air will determine the fate of ‘Standoff’. SO WATCH IT!!!
What kind of a world is this where Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader is renewed, but Justice is not?
Well, I AM Smarter Than a 5th Grader, but apparently, Fox is not!
FOX is the #1 network for premature cancellations and really bad decisions. You’re really brain dead and stupid FOX!
Justice was the best show I have seen in years on ANY network, let alone fox. Why they cancelled it is beyond me… of course it gets bad ratings WHEN YOU MOVE IT TO FRIDAYS!!! And they cancel the winner just when its getting good and the war at home was still a favorite of mine even though the storyline was getting weird. Till death getting renewed surprises me, as it had a terrible timeslot that kept changing and even though I thought it was funny, it had cancelled written all over it. After years and years of watching fox… Read more »
