It looked like Army Wives might be coming to an end after six seasons. Now, it turns out that last night’s cliffhanger season ending might be a good sign for season seven.
Series star Catherine Bell has noted that, while Army Wives hasn’t been cancelled, it hasn’t been renewed yet either. Via her Twitter account, Bell said that the cast and crew filmed two endings for the season six finale which was filmed in June. Presumably one that would wrap up the show and another that would serve as a cliffhanger to lead into season seven.
Though Army Wives hasn’t been renewed, Bell hints that it’s “kind of a good sign” that Lifetime went with the cliffhanger ending instead of the tidy one.
If the Lifetime show does indeed come back, you can be sure that Bell will be a part of it. The actress signed a new two year deal with the studio back in May. It potentially commits her to two more seasons of the show and gives her a significant salary increase.
Who else would be returning? That seems to be up in the air since none of the other original Army Wives castmembers have contracts now that season six is over. If Lifetime wants them back, they’ll have to renegotiate salaries and that will presumably drive production costs.
That may explain why so many characters were left in jeopardy in the sixth season finale. If deals can’t be reached, Army Wives could return with several new faces. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
What do you think? Do you think Army Wives will return for a seventh season? If some in the cast don’t return, who would you miss the most? The least?
I am saddened if Army Wives is really ending. I look forward to watching this show every week! The writers, the characters, the actors……the blend is wonderful. I was pleased (though confused) to see that the show’s finale left us all hanging….not normal for a “final” ending……so maybe we’ll still be able to see Army Wives again next season. I certainly hope so!
PLEASE BRING ARMY WIVES BACK!!!!! it is the best show you have on tv now a days. This is my favorite show and have never missed an episode. Please let us know if you will renew it for a season 7 and so on? dont leave us hanging like this. we are all loyal viewers and would like an answer or at least a real ending to the series. I will miss roxy and trevor and their family the most i think. Roxy and Denise are my favorite. PLEASE RENEW ARMY WIVES and get rid of DANCE MOMS, that teacher… Read more »
SHOWS COME AND GO, SOME ARE MISSED AND SOME NOT, BUT ARMY WIVES NEEDS TO KEEP GOING. AN AIR CRAFT FULL OF SOLDIERS CRASHING IS SOMETHING THAT COULD BE VERY REAL. THE REACTION OF GENERAL HOLDEN COULD BE FOR TREVOR AND ROXIE, WHICH WOULD BE BAD. I HOPE THAT ARMY WIVES WILL COME BACK WITHOUT THERE BEING TOTAL LOSS OF LIVES. MY SON IS DEPLOYED RIGHT NOW AND OUR SOLDIERS HAVE TO RETURN HOME.
I have watched Army Wives since the beginning. I have looked forward to each and every chapter. It is one of the very few shows on todays that has a meaningful story line. I am sick of reality TV, comadies that aren’t, and “talent” shows. It would be a huge mistake for Lifetime to cancel this series, Lifetime needs to listen to the fans, renew Army Wives!
love this show, have been watching it form the get go, after each episode, my co-worker, my daugher-law, my sister and my self have a discussion about the episode. I would like to seem all return, however, I think they shoud have Roxy going back to being Roxy. Sally Pressman was a breath of fresh air and a good mix with the other more sophiscated Clauidia Joy, Denise, Joan and Jackie. I do not know what has happened to Kim Delaney, perhaps it has something to do with her apperance last year at that convention in Pa. However, I liked… Read more »
I just started watching Army Wives a few months ago, and I’m hooked! It’s really a good show! Please don’t cancel. There’s no other show like it on the air. It has drama without violence, good acting, and gives non-military folks a chance to get a glimpse into the lives of the those who put their lives on the line for our country, and what their families go through.
I love Army Wives too and hope they don’t cancel it. I’m in the Navy so I can relate to a lot of the storylines. The one storyline that the writers have not yet exploited, which is my life story as duel military couple. Not saying that the dependent wives have it easy or anything but being duel military is a huge can of worms that could really peak some interest in the fans. Just saying 🙂
I would like Army Wives to continue! We have the new women that can carry on the program with Pamela, Roxie and C”J gone. Or maybe bring them all back whick is my druthers!
I have enjoyed this show more than anyother in a long time. The story line is so real. We all need to be reminded of what our men & women of the armed services and their extended families go through each day to protect us and keep us free…Thank You!!!Please bring the show back. We don’t need more reality TV programing.
Please bring back Army Wives! Great show that brings up so many issues!
Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep Army Wives! I love this show.
As a member of the Army myself I too enjoy this show. I have watched many shows over the years but those shows have come and gone I remain faithful to Army Wives every time it is on I am watching it. This show deals with a lot of issues in not just the Army but other aspects of other branches. Please renew the show for a seventh season.
I can see three possible storyline That General Holden could be setting us up for Season 7 if thier is one. Of course there is the Air plane cliff hanger but just in the ten mins after watching the ending. I have thought of two different possible ways the storyline could go. But something I have not seen anyone write about is the song at the end as Roxy and Travor are driving thru the base. Choices of music sometimes are for a reason is it a clue. Part of the song goes This could be a new beginning (hint)… Read more »
I caught that too about the song. Maybe a spin-off??? Guess we will have to wait.
I have enjoyed Army Wive mostly because the acting is excellent, but the main reason it helps me understand the emotional life of military families. My daughter in law is a US National Guard, major. Deployment was hard both times. Army Wives /and Roland who represented the thousand of men who are left at home to care for TE family,my son does this job. I do not know why the show is ending BUT THE SHOW SHOULD NOT END! This show keeps the reality that families as well as the soldier are fight a war thay we all need to remember,Army… Read more »
