Russell Tovey wants back on Banished. The actor recently told Radio Times he’d “love” to revisit the cancelled BBC Two series.
Created by Jimmy McGovern, the historical drama chronicled the founding of the first British penal colony in Australia. Alongside Tovey, the series starred Orla Brady, Ewen Bremner, Ryan Corr, and David Wenham.
Discussing a possible revival, Tovey said he’d absolutely return:
Yes, I’d love it. That was an incredible job. It was an expensive show, you take everyone out to Australia for like 5 months, and I feel like it would’ve been brilliant to do it again. I’m quite sad.”
Though, the actor later mentioned that the window of opportunity for a revival may have passed:
“Hopefully another channel will do it, but I don’t know if the time, the window for that opportunity has passed. Ripper Street happened quite soon after, you know, so…maybe one day.”

I am in U.s. and watched the show with great interest. One of the better streaming programs. I really hope it returns! Great escapism to another world and time.
Just finished watching season one of banished. Absolutely loved it! wish there was a second season. So well done acted, beautifully filmed, wonderfully written. I do hope that a second season will be made.
Omg yes…I would love to keep watching this show…That’s how I got here..I was looking up why wasn’t there any more shows..I was hooked from the 1st episode….this is a show I could easily get addicted to watching…and in 2020 & 2021..when we need to stay home and social distance ourselves… we need entertainment like this… so pls.keeo me upto date if yall ever make part 3 of …Banished

Criminal that it was cancelled after but a single season. Top notch show with a stellar cast.

I truly loved Banished. Excellent acting, terrific story. Wonderful group of actors. I hope and pray there will be a revival of , Banished with a second season.
