Last year, Bates Motel was a ratings hit for A&E. Will it continue to be a success? Could it tank and be cancelled? Stay tuned to find out.
Bates Motel tells the story of future killer Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga), in the small town of White Pine Bay, Oregon. Others in the cast include Max Thieriot, Nestor Carbonell, Olivia Cooke, Nicola Peltz, Michael Vartan, Michael O’Neill, Paloma Kwiatkowski, Rebecca Creskoff, Kenny Johnson, Michael Eklund, and Mike Vogel.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
4/7 update: The show has been renewed for a third season.
Final season averages: 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.3 million total viewers.

What do you think? Do you like the Bates Motel TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a third season?
Love love love the show! Look forward to it every week!
I guess the the liberal media next goal is to normalize incest
Awesome show. It just keeps getting better and better. I think season 2 is better than season 1. Extremely happy it will be back for a 3rd season. The cast and crew do an excellent job.
great show!
Please keep it for a long, long, long time!
Won’t miss an episode! Characters, writing, acting..have raised the bar for other shows.
Please keep it on for a long, long time!
You got a winner!
One of, if not THE best shows I have seen in many, many years. The writing, the characters, the acting..Have truly raised the bar for others!
Was hesitant to watch at first. Thought it might be like the movie; however, I watched the first episode and was hooked!
Look forward to it every week. Please keep this show! The plot can thicken in so many avenues!
KEEP!
Watched ’em all so far. I note there’s some great dialogue, filming going on with this show. But the acting, especially in so many, non-verbal instances is what draws in the viewer in. Quite compelling stuff. Especially so by Freddie Highmore who’s critically tasked with the most demanding role of all for the show’s ultimate credibility. Moreover, I commend the writers for conjuring creative plot-turns in this, the second season. Not many shows have fared well trying. In fact, nearly all have failed. It’s why I keep watching this one. BRAVO!
Definitely bring the Bates Motel back for season 3.
Everyone’s acting is excellent. The writing is excellent. The characters are developed intricately.
The weirdness is so cool. The mysteries are intriguing over several episodes.
I’m curious about the sheriff’s future actions. He’s calculating and determined and can be brutal.
I don’t regularly watch tv dramas that much but I really would like to see more seasons from Bates Motel. One of the best TV shows on air now! Don’t take it away
My hubby and I love the show Bates Motel! It does have a lot of competition though. We never miss an episode of Bates Motel. Hoping it’ll remain on the air and A&E won’t pull it off the air like they did the show that followed it, Those Who Kill. They never gave that show a chance! Glad I’ll be able to watch the remaining episodes of Those Who Kill beginning Sunday on LMN though. Hoping that Bates Motel is renewed and Those Who Kill.
I have watched every episode every week ever since season 1. My absolute favorite show on television ! Love it so much ! Renew for a 3rd and so on !
This is one of those well acted, well written shows that is VERY addictive. You just can’t wait to see what kinds of trouble Norman & Norma will get into next. Hope it last for a lot more years.
Leave the show on. It is a great show and something different from all the cop shows.
Better thsn most of the crap. Maybe it’s a little mature for 2/3 of the people watching. Keep it on the sir.
Love the show! My husband and I watch every week.
