It appears that Battle Creek has lost the ratings war. The low-rated Sunday night police series has been cancelled by CBS.
Battle Creek revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers — Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) — who have polar opposite views of the world and end up being partners. The rest of the cast includes Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Aubrey Dollar, and Edward Fordham Jr.
The show debuted on March 1st to a disappointing 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.92 million viewers. The numbers got even worse in later weeks and has fallen to lows of a 0.7 demo rating and fewer than six million viewers.
Those numbers aren’t good enough for CBS to order a second season so they’ve now cancelled it.
There are four unaired episodes remaining and the last installment is currently scheduled to air on May 24th.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for season two?
there some kind of petition?

CBS please do not cancel this show. Other shows get second and even more chances at different time slots. It is really entertaining………what can we do to change their minds?
Tell CBS!

A Great Show at a bad time slot. Its like CBS wanted it to fail. Shoul cancel N
The best new show this season and you cancel it. Way to go CBS. No show ever makes it in that time slot. NO reality, NO sitcoms, NO dramas, NO stupid voting shows because they are terrible. Give it more of a chance and better time slot.
Really…shows like Two Broke Girls go on and on, but Battle Creek gets cancelled. Clever show…good cast… BAD TIME Slot! Please try again!
Finally, a great, funny, clean TV show; and wonder of wonders, it is cancelled. What are the networks thinking. I agree with John, this is the best show on network TV this season. Please bring it back.
This is the reason I watch almost NO network television. This show was doomed by a lousy time slot, but instead of moving it and letting it find it’s audience CBS cancels it. Oh, but don’t worry, all 875 versions of CSI and NCIS will survive. GREAT show, CLUELESS network.
This is a great show, that for some unbelievable was scheduled at 10 on Sunday night – what a horrible time slot for such a great show! I mean, did the network execs hate it or something? That aside, I like this show so much that I have not missed a single episode, again in spite of the terrible time slot. Like many people I have grown bored with the usual procedural, sitcom, political, soap, fill in the blank formula. I can’t stand reality TV. So this show is a true boon. It is unique, it is clever, and really… Read more »
I have at long last, finally found my true vocation: I am an expert at selecting shows that will be cancelled. I need only become a devotee, bring the popcorn and dried mangoes to the tv room, and then turn on one of my favorite programs, and sure enough, within a year, it will disappear. Forever. Allegiance, The Blue Rose, The Hour (2 seasons!) Boss (2 seasons!!), Low Winter Sun, Rush, Battle Creek, Cross Bones, Backstrom, and Reckless. Ten shows, ten programs watched religiously, each week. That’s a lot of popcorn. Maybe the producers were just looking out for my… Read more »
Nooooo
I actually like this show….Don’t cancel!!!!
I haven’t missed an episode and felt the show was finding itself and improving each week..was somewhat confident with vince’s track record it would get a fair shot…like a better time slot…you know…look at the shows renewed ….good grief….wonder what would happen to “call saul” or “fargo” on this network…hate to think..what a pitiful joke…cbs eh?…..”c” is for clueless
I might know nothing. However, I do know that this show is a wonderful breath of fresh air. Please, please keep this show, or you’ll show that you know nothing too. Peace up. Stark boys represent. Winter is coming and all that other bs. Word to yo mothers.
Great show that had zero chance on Sunday night. This is 10 times better than the other new CBS shows that got renewed, but all had an easier time because of the night they aired. This is top writing, funny and good cop drama. I hope one of the cable networks picks this up. Was the best show on network TV this season.
