It appears that Battle Creek has lost the ratings war. The low-rated Sunday night police series has been cancelled by CBS.
Battle Creek revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers — Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) — who have polar opposite views of the world and end up being partners. The rest of the cast includes Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Aubrey Dollar, and Edward Fordham Jr.
The show debuted on March 1st to a disappointing 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.92 million viewers. The numbers got even worse in later weeks and has fallen to lows of a 0.7 demo rating and fewer than six million viewers.
Those numbers aren’t good enough for CBS to order a second season so they’ve now cancelled it.
There are four unaired episodes remaining and the last installment is currently scheduled to air on May 24th.

CBS HAS JUST MADE TWO MAJOR MISTAKES! First, time/day slot for the show Battle Creek was awful! second, did not give show the a chance, because of paid advertising! I think every fan should email CBS, and give them an honest opinion of the networks poor decision to cancel a GREAT SHOW! I for one may stop watching CBS FOR GOOD!
I liked the show, better than mom or some of the other cbs shows that deal with vulgarity, sex, drugs and illicit relationships

I’m not surprised CBS cancelled the show. I can remember when the network was at the bottom of the ratings with some of the worst shows on TV. In recent years, they turned that around with some decent programs but making money is the name of the game. Ratings equal advertising dollars. Maybe when they hit bottom again they will get rid of the dead wood and make more decent shows like Elementary, POI, Bluebloods and NCIS. Yes, I really wanted it to at least have a chance. The actors were funny and realistic enough to relate to. Instead we have stupid shows like scorpian which is way too far fetched by the end of each episode. Miraculously always escaping bombs, radiation exposure or whatever. Not too mention being saved by a ten year old who risks his life while his mother allows it….whatever…so, fantasy type shows like zoo, or under the dome, I guess r what people want right now…..yuk
Please bring back Battle Creek. It was well paced, with usually sophisticated humor (probably why the 18 – 26 year olds didn’t like it). Also YOU HAD IT IN THE WRONG TIME SLOT!!!!
Very disappointed BC has been canceled. I really enjoyed the dynamics of the cast.

I am very, very disappointed that BC has not been renewed. I loved it! The two guys were great as well as other cast members. I thought each episode was organized in such a way that it always all came together at the end . Humor, drama and romance. It is too bad because it could have gone much further and now we will never have the experience.

i was eagerly waiting for Season 2 of Battle Creek! That show is the best show since The Mentalist and is right up there with Elementary! It was a crime show and yet a comedy at the same time. I can’t believe it was canceled I had everyone I know watch it. I have been a diehard fan of CBS for years. But you keep canceling shows I like such as Battle Creek and Unforgettable!
