CBS has had mixed success with their new crime dramas this season. NCIS: New Orleans has been renewed for a second season while Stalker has been dropped from the schedule and may likely be cancelled. What will happen to Battle Creek? Stay tuned.
Battle Creek revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers — Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) — who have polar opposite views of the world and end up being partners. The rest of the cast includes Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Aubrey Dollar, and Edward Fordham Jr.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: CBS has cancelled the Battle Creek series midway through its first season.
Final season averages: 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.12 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
The season is over?? After what, 10 episodes?? What happened to actual full season like fall to spring without all these chunks of time interrupting a series and then coming back for a couple more episodes. I guess the network programmers think everyone has a short attention span.
Renew – this time slot is beyond bad. Given a better time slot, this funny, quirky police drama would do better ratings wise. Very good writing and humorous take on life inside a middle America police department.
Please Renew! Good who done it. Makes you laugh. Definitely makes you think.
Love Love Love Both Leads, very good foils for each other.
RENEW!! Please 🙂
RENEW – I love this show but it is on a horrible time and night. The last 2 weeks I have missed the show because of basketball. I fell asleep before it came on and the dvr didn’t record it all. Why do they start a new show on a Sunday night at 10. That is the worst time slot there is. I also liked stalker and am bummed to hear it is being cancelled. I am so sick of all the sports on tv.
We like it a lot! The screen was to dark in the first episode, but it reminds me of Firefly (first episode was to busy also) in a way because you need to give it time to let the characters develop. I think it’s worthwhile, so give it a chance.
RENEW..I love this show!!!!!!!
RENEW! Being a police officer myself, I can say that the setting (under funded, out dated/broken equipment, no frills office, etc.) is right on the money. That’s probably why I enjoy this funny show so much..I can relate! As far as the cast, the chemistry is great! Dean Winters is in his element as the crusty, jaded detective. The other cast members are also a great fit into their characters as well. I recommend to all my friends and family to watch it. Hope it stays on because it is a must watch!
this show is totally unwatchable
I love it and hope you will give it a chance to develop the time necessary for tv viewers to develop a connection with the characters. The writing is great the plots are great, the actors are perfect the characters are unique and quirky now all you need is some more ads.
A thoroughly watchable show…..entertaining…..makes me laugh unexpectedly out loud. They are developing the characters well around good story lines.
I will be pissed off if this one isn’t given a real chance.
We LOVE this show. There is no other show like it on TV. We look forward to it every week. PLEASE continue it CBS. This show is very entertaining. It has corny humor and the characters crack us up. It is so much better than the comedies with the fake, stupid, laugh tracks that aren’t even funny.
I LOVE Battle Creek! Thought I’d give it a try, didn’t know what would make it different than the others…. It’s fresh, has clever wit, not dumbed down for the audience, and the characters are so likable. The acting is spot on, perfect comic timing, main characters are great foils for one another & director doesn’t slow lines down & add unnecessary pauses so that viewers can “get it.” Please don’t cancel!!!
RENEW! Do the CBS execs have their heads so far up their armpits they do not realise a good, solid show with lots of promise when they see one? AND: do they not realise that many of us, eschewing the mindless advertisements, RECORD the show and view it at our leisure? Other than Battle Creek, CBS has only TWO (2) solid winners: NCIS and The Big Bang Theory. I like the real NCIS but, it is the 12th season; sooner or later, “Harmon Enterprises” will tire of the whole NCIS thing. Mark Harmon is a gifted actor; his amazing portrayal… Read more »
Pretty standard fare. Put two opposite-type people together and watch them butt heads. And make them cops. Been done better many times before.
