The original BattleBots TV show ran for five seasons on Comedy Central. Now, ABC has picked up a reimagined version of the show more than a dozen years later. How will the robotic competition perform in the ratings on a major network? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
On the new version of BattleBots, the next generation of killer robots fight each other for the win. They’re bigger, faster, and stronger than ever before. Episodes focus on the design and building of each robot, the bot builders’ backstories, their intense pursuit of the championship, and the spectacle of the event. Commenting on and judging the action are Chris Rose, Kenny Florian, Molly McGrath, Alison Haislip, Bobak Ferdowsi, Faruq Tauheed, Fon Davis, Jessica Chobot, and Leland Melvin.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

What do you think? Do you like the BattleBots TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I think it is going quite an interesting fall season with so many new shows premiering and current ones returning. I am especially looking forward to Supernatural, Arrow and Hawaii Five-0. These are my very favorites.
The announcers were always a combination of hype and eye candy. (At least one season, they had Carmen Electra. Obviously, she was not there for her scientific expertise.) There were a few differences. First, in the original Battlebots, flame throwers were not allowed, but I did enjoy them this time around, although not sure they were effective. They also did not allow “multi-bots,” which again were intriguing, if not effective. They still don’t allow projectiles, which makes for a better fight. So from that standpoint, the ABC rules were enjoyable. In addition, the Comedy Central tournaments were not single-elimination, one-and-done… Read more »
Other than the incompetent announcers, what’s different from the original?
What the heck was going on anyway?
I think ABC needs to think about more than numbers. Especially in the beginning. The manufacturing sector in the USA is in desperate need for highly paid and highly skilled employees and this show will help reach the next generation. We need help! So, before all the negative Nellie’s start in on manufacturing and how nothing is made in the USA anymore, do some current research. It’s coming back in a different shape than your father’s and grandfather’s production lines and smoke filled drill press rooms. It’s high tech and pays an above average living wage. This show could help… Read more »
Our team watched the new series, and we have to say, it was BEAUTIFUL. We made found some contacts, arranged a few things, and if the series gets continued, they said they’d love to have us. We think this should be continued, because the sport is too beautiful to lose.
So at 4 mil, it’s not likely that ABC will renew on the big network. I suggest they put it on ESPN. It is, after all, a sports tournament.
How about Killer Robots fight Celebrities to the death? That would eliminate the horrid celebrity shows of the future.
