Positive thinking certainly didn’t help NBC’s new reality series, Breakthrough with Tony Robbins, in the ratings. The TV show’s been pulled after just two episodes.
In Breakthrough with Tony Robbins, self-help master Tony Robbins seeks to help ordinary people overcome big challenges so that they can begin living their lives to their true potential.
The first episode of Breakthrough got off to a very poor start with a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and only 3.12 million viewers. That put the debut in fourth place in both areas.
This week’s installment attracted about the same in the demo but total viewership fell to 2.76 million viewers. How low could the ratings go?

We won’t get to find out. NBC has pulled Breakthrough effective immediately. They’ve replaced it with repeats of Minute to Win It for the foreseeable future.
This leaves four episodes of Breakthrough on the shelf, unaired. The network hasn’t made any indication that they’ll burn off the remaining installments. There is no way that NBC will be ordering any more episodes and the show’s been confirmed as cancelled.
What do you think? Did you like Breakthrough with Tony Robbins? Why do you think the show didn’t succeed in attracting more viewers?

I thought his show was great very inspiring . He proved u can do anything please bring it back,
I can’t believe they canceled him!!!! I was so excited that it was now Tuesday and I put his name in google to pull up the time of the show –to find it canceled. I hope NBC let’s Tony keep the shows and not vault them — I agree tony needs to take them to cable. In a time when so many American’s are so hopeless we all need to learn how to rewrite our own story! I loved his interview this a.m. on Good Morning America – I guess he had no idea this morning NBC was canceling. I… Read more »
I can’t believe NBC took this off. I was all set to watch it tonight! Yes, at least release all the episodes. Instead NBC puts on some stupid game show. My whole family enjoyed the show.
I was bitterly disappointed at not being able to watch Tony’s” Breakthrough” this evening. I searched all over the television viewing times, as I thought I had got the wrong channel.I am a New Zealander living in the USA and finding the TV channels is somewhat of a challenge, amongst other things! Anyway……..I had specifically told my best friend here to watch it as she is going through a very traumatic divorce, and similar circumstance to the programme to be shown this evening! But…….to no avail! What is wrong with the “powers that be”?. Last weeks programme was so incredible,… Read more »
Here I am at 8:00 pm looking to watch Tony Robbins and the show is not on. I am disgusted.
I loved that show and Im only 14 just proves how stupid America is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
VERY DISSAPOINTED!! I KNOW MANY THAT PEOPLE WATCHED IT, WHEN IT AIRED AND ON LINE. NBC ‘S LOSS!!! I CANCELLED MY RECORDING,NO WAY AM I RECORDING THAT DUMB SHOW THAT REPLACED TONY ROBBIN’S.
So disappointed. Had the whole family watching. Sitting and ready for third show only to hear at the last minute it was gone. Poo on NBC. Other T.V. choices don’t hold a candle.
For someone who does not watch much t.v. I scheduled my work around this show because I knew it would be profound. So tonight, I was very disappointed that N.B.C. had canceled this show. This show was powerful and had a wonderful message. I am so sad for the people who could have benefited from something positive. Why? At least release the other episodes.
Tony should do what Oprah did…Get your own cable tv station, and put your show out there. Only about 5% of the public are interested in personal growth.
As someone familiar with Robbin’s work and skills, I think it is a shame that NBC is not willing to risk a little more air time to serious issues that effect everyone. While I believe the first episode was brought down to a level so low that it risked any chance of teaching or being memorable, the second showed the agony that many, if not most, relationships suffer through just for the want of some Tony-style counseling. NBC: Does every minute need to be aimed at the lowest common denominator? Is there any chance of building a following and raising… Read more »
I loved it. Very Disappointed!!!
tony robbins show “Breakthrough” was inspiring & uplifting – tony’s strategies are a great example of how people can turn their lives around in 30 days with his coaching – if ever there was time for a positive influence in television viewing with all the negative currently being aired nbc had an opportunity to step up & set a new standard to help support in creating a compelling future for many who need this in their world today
I am shocked to hear that NBC canceled this totally rockin’, all inspiring, give-mankind-hope show!!! This is typical of American TV though. Seems as though only the garbage gets good ratings. What does that say about us as Americans? (Not me of course, I LOVED the shows and want a lot more of them.) This is perhaps why we are where we are as a nation… depressed, downtrotten, hopeless, broke, and living in our own pool of pity. Tony brings hope (not dope) to those who feel hopeless and opportunity for growth. Let’s ban together America and get Tony back… Read more »
If people don’t know about a show, they can’t watch it. There is a MASSIVE fan base for this show, but it is brand new and it is starting off it’s season in summer… they needed to just put it in a less competitive time-slot, make sure they could keep producing under budget, and then let the sparks catch flame. Given a chance, this showed could still be a very big, and very long running, success.
