Like any network, ABC goes through a lot of TV shows in a season. While some remain on the air for the whole season, others come and go pretty quickly and are largely forgotten.
Here’s a listing of shows with their current status. This list encompasses shows that have aired from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
We’ll keep updating the list throughout the May upfronts when decisions are made about most of the shows’ fates. Keep checking back, especially if your favorite is still on the fence.

Here are listings for the other networks: CBS | The CW | FOX | NBC

What do you think? Any news that makes you particularly happy or sad? When compared to other networks, is ABC better or worse about cancelling shows?

I think ABC stinks! You start a series get the viewer hooked and then put the series in a hiatus for a month. The same thing happened with Pushing Daisies(great show and actors). If you give up on a series, the worst thing you could do is stop it for a month, people find other things to watch and never come back. Too much reality crap and not enough good, quality shows, I think ABC should cut some managers.
I just finished watching the last Flashforward episode…soooo dissappointed! When my husband told me a few days ago that the show was going to be cancelled, I couldn’t believe it. We have followed EVERY episode since it’s beginning. We also follow V too, which got off to a slow start, which we almost stopped watching. Why is V kept over Flashforward which, to me, had a much more intriguing plot from the start! I agree with all the other comments in reference to this show, I pride myself on having good taste in shows with actual PLOTS! Flashforward met the… Read more »
I can’t believe Flashforward, Mercy, and Miami medical are cancelled.
I agree with all of the above!!
How are you suppose to get into a program when you bring it on and then take a 2-3 mnth sabatical.. Back in good TV days a program was introduced and left on for at least 1 year and then reavaluate..
Now show them 4 or 5 weeks then if theyn are not showing rates as does
NCIS or any CIS, then take it off…Wake up networks before people watch
more movies or play WII….!!!!!!!!!!!
ABC kept COUGAR TOWN over Flashforward? Nevermind V- Cougar Town has some of the most atrocious acting (not to mention writing) I have ever seen on television. ABC made a huge mistake canceling Flashforward.
I’d like to say booo in regards to Happy Town being pulled. It’s Twin Peaks all over again but I will give ABC kudos on keeping Cougartown. The show is actually a breath of fresh air. It’s really nice to see people with actual “character” and to see a show that isn’t all “doomsday”, considering we have enough negativity and awful things happening in life and news. We need less “scripted reality” which isn’t reality at all. All these shows do is make people think they can get rich by acting stupid and exploiting themselves. Cougartown is my kind of… Read more »
In 9 years the only shows I watched on ABC have been “Dancing With the Stars”, “Castle”, and “the forgotten” because ABC has the most ridiculous shows on television. It’s all silliness and crudeness and stupid reality. In the last 15 years or so ABC hasn’t had much of anything worth watching and doggoneit! You go and cancel the only decent show on ABC, “the forgotten”,with the exception of “Castle”. ABC might want to take some pointers from CBS since they are the most watched network and they have the best shows!
Please give Flashforward a second chance.
It’s amazing!
Thank you
ABC, NBC, and CBS each cancelled new shows which I watched regularly. I agree with everyone else that shows are not given a chance to build an audience. Also, the new trend of running about eight shows and then going on hiatus makes the schedule too confusing. Sometimes a show is on for a few weeks before I even discover it!
Maimi Medical just came on ans we were really getting to love the characters and the show..
Why don’t you gie it a chane to see what kind of ratings will it can have after a full season.. Atleast give it a chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ABC has a history of a short-lived shows. Flash Forward and The Deep End were my two favorite new shows this year. Both were canceled and I don’t get it. In the past few years ABC did this other shows. Why bother buying a series if you’re not going to let it blossom. Flash Forward, in particular, was exciting to watch. You didn’t know what was going to happen. At least Fox didn’t cancel Human Target. I will truely miss 24.
Happy Town was pretty good. I mean, it was kind of cheesy, but I liked it. It’s too bad it never go a chance to develop the characters more. 🙁 I’m so glad that Brothers and Sisters is renewed. LOVE IT!
When they pulled Happy Town it was like living the Twin Peaks saga all over again. They were both great shows, of course a little cheese but still and interesting plot I would’ve liked to have seen followed through.
Wow…I thought Flashforward was one of the best shows I’d seen in a long time. I seek out opportunities to see it even though I’m overseas. I was really looking forward to getting a robust story instead of being dropped in the middle. V is okay–getting better, but it’s really not in the same league as Flashforward. It would be nice if Syfy or some other network with better taste managed to pick it up.
I can’t believe ABC is keeping shows like The Middle, The Bachelor / The Bachelorette, Dating in the Dark, and Supernanny on the air, while canceling Flash Forward, Eastwick, The Forgotten, and Happytown! They didn’t give them a chance to get going. Flash Forward was doomed by the long break. By the time it came back, even the hour long recap couldn’t save it. That’s what happens when you have idiots running the show.
Going to have to agree….It’s a great new diet plan. Gets us off the couch and shutting off the TV because they keep cancelling the ones with actual plots and story lines. They keep trading in the good books for the tabloids:)
How can you cancel shows before anybody gets a chance to add to their viewing schedule. Flashforward, Miami Medical and Happy Town just started. Why put shows on if you are not going to give them a chance? I may have to look for new shows on the other networks.
ABC needs to allow series like Happy Town and Flash Forward an automatic two year run just to give viewers a reason to watch. Viewers are too used to serials getting cut early, so we don’t even start watching.
You are absolutely correct. Every show I start watching has been pulled and it’s unfortunate. Makes me not want to start watching if it’s not going to be followed through. Not to mention there is entirely too much “not” reality TV that it is mind numbingly dull. They finally have some shows that keep you on your toes and make you want to watch and they pull them. Pointless!
