Of all of the networks, CBS has the most viewers. Unfortunately, their shows also tend to skew older. CBS tends to be the most tight-lipped of the networks so early news of renewals and cancellations doesn’t happen as often.
Here’s a listing of CBS TV shows with their current status. This list encompasses shows that have aired from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
We’ll keep updating the list throughout the May upfronts when decisions are made about most of the shows’ fates. Keep checking back, especially if your favorite is still on the fence.

What do you think? Any news that makes you particularly happy or sad? When compared to other networks, is CBS better or worse about cancelling shows?

Looking at CBS I guess – I will not be watching it that much any more. I do not like reality or game shows. The only time I watched it was for all the soaps in the morning. I used to tape them and watch them on the weekends. I noticed some of the story lines in As the World Turns and Guilding Light changed. I did not like in the direction of a few of the characters had, but I still watched them hoping they would change. I had been watching the soaps with my grandmother and mother. My… Read more »
What is CBS thinking. My wife & I watch CBS exclusively, but now we will get to see what ABC & NBC have to offer. They are getting rid of most of the shows that we really like. The only one that I think deserves to meet the chopping block is Ghost Whisperer. That was always a very good show until last season when “Jim” jumped into someone else s body. In other words I feel they “jumped the shark”. Gary Unmarried was the funniest show I have ever seen. Goodbye CBS
Shows like Criminal Minds, CSI (Las Vegas and Miami), Cold Case, Medium, Ghost Whisper, Smallville, Supernatural, How I met your mother are the bomb. Anyone thinking of canceling this shows should have their head examined.
I am so totally FED UP with CBS & NBC. For the longest you are the 2 stations that I watch the most because that’s where most of ALL the goods Shows are. I have very serious doubts about your choices! Really I think they STINK!!! You get crappy shows on that you leave on & leaves me trying to figure out who really watches them but yet you have the AUDACITY to come in and kill shows like: Ghost Whisper, Miami Medical, Trauma, Mercy, Numbers, Three Rivers, Without a Trace, not to mention ones in the past!!! These are… Read more »
CBS, while our most watched station, has just really upset me. I am so very sad about Ghost Whisperer. This was one of our favorite shows. We have not missed and episode – yes, even reruns – since the series started. We even own all 4 seasons that are out on DVD. Don’t kill in completely. Mid-season replacement? You know not all these new shows will work out. Please – someone else pick it up (SyFy anyone?). I really am not thrilled that they are moving CSI Miami to Sunday night either, nor moving CSI NY to Fridays. Moving shows… Read more »
So disappointed about Ghost Whisperer, Cold Case and Numb3rs. CBS has been my exclusive channel until now. Guess that might have to change.
To the person that said that no one likes The Amazing Race and it should be cancelled… please speak for yourself. There are a lot of people that love that show, myself included!!! That is why it does not get cancelled and continues to win an Emmy every year. It is quality television that can be enjoyed by the entire family. If you do not like it, that is your call, but you do not speak for me or the other Amazing Race fans out there. I look forward to season 17 and beyond. Go Amazing Race go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How could you cancel Gary Unmarried, this was laugh out loud funny. One of the best shows I have seen in a long time, I am very sad to see it go.
the new adventures of old christine and ghost whisperer I and some of my friends are more than disappointed. Just hoping that some other network will pick up these winners! won’t watch cbs on fridays anymore!
I’m sad if Ghost Whisperer is cancelled. I wish Miami Medical could be saved. 60 Minutes could switch to Saturday; with 48 Hours. Making it easier for The Amazing Race to air after the NFL/Golf in EDT EST.
Fridays will be a light night again w/o Ghost Whisperer & Miami Medical. Stupid that Moonlight & Three Rivers were axed. A waste of Alex’s time.
2 1/2 men, should’ve been axed
What are you talking about all these shows that haven’t been officially renewed? Are you telling me that they are considering NOT picking some of them up? That wouldn’t make an ounce of sense. I’m sure they’ll be picked up, but not hearing anything for certain doesn’t make sense. Also, wasn’t The Mentalist alreadly sold into synadation? Why would it be on the bubble? The original CSI is still on the air, although most shows suffer after the loss of their main character. If they ever get rid of that, they could always get a new CSI spin-off, but only… Read more »
I just had the cable hooked up 5 months ago….now you want to drop most of the shows that I watch: I LOVE the shows….Num3ers, Ghost Whisperer, CSI, CSI NY, CSI Miami, even liked the Miami Medical…NCIS and NCIS LA. Why would you not renew these. I know many many people who are faithful watchers…but there were times that you CBS made it extremely hard to view the show(s) with programs being shown instead. I’m not a sports lover….drop the basketball…..
I really like “Miami Medical.” The first episode wasn’t so great, but the show’s gotten so much better since then. Sad to see it go.

I give up. i’m canceling my cable. they got rid of all the shows i watch. first Eastwick, then Happy Town, Now Ghost Whisperer. I like CSI NY and NCIS but they haven’t been renewed yet. Why are the networks so oblivious to what the public wants?
