TruTV is sticking with Those Who Can’t. Deadline reports the network has renewed the TV series for a third season.
The comedy centers on a group of trouble-making high school teachers. The cast includes Adam Cayton-Holland, Andrew Orvedahl, Ben Roy, and Maria Thayer. Guest stars have included Susie Essman, Kyle Kinane, Hana Mae Lee, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Patton Oswalt, Cheri Oteri, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Rory Scovel, and Baron Vaughn.
Season two of the series just ended in December and earned fairly low ratings, averaging a .10 in the 18-49 demo and a total of only 204,000 viewers. Comparatively, season one averaged a .17 rating in the 18-49 demo and a total of 332,000 viewers. Despite low ratings, truTV chief Chris Linn says the network loves the show:
From day one, we have loved this show and are proud of the world of rich characters that Adam, Andrew and Ben have built through two successful seasons. There are more hilarious stories to tell at Smoot High, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next.”
The network has ordered 13 new episodes for season three, which is slated to begin sometime later this year.
What do you think? Do you watch Those Who Can’t? Are you glad it’s been renewed?
Best show on t.v.
Love this show, watched season 1 on hulu just by chance. I bought season 1 and 2 on vudu and watched several episodes multiple times. The kpop light up talking shoes make me laugh everytime!
I love this show. It is absolutely hilarious. Perhaps it’s getting low ratings because it’s competing with other major networks or because it hasn’t been that heavily advertised. Trust me, if people see this show they will love it. Every episode is hilarious.
I’m so happy this show was extended. O absolutely love it!
I just saw reruns of this show for the first time today. I laughed and laughed and laughed!!! I really enjoyed this sitcom. I’m glad its getting renewed. It gives me time to catch up on the series. Not to mention, I know I have some smiling and laughing coming my way later in 2017.
Wonderful! Off beat show with the reverse of what high school is about. We are the teachers are the ones who are the troublemakers and the kids who are in trouble because of that……..lol
