Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I’m Sooo DISSAPOINTED !!!
I loved Cedar Cove !!!
I was looking forward to new episode .
Should have at least finished off last season of unanswered questions.
Netflix! Please produce the next season of Cedar Cove.
I have not watched a series show in many years. I was immensely enjoying coming to start my next episode. Not a good way to end series. Definitely would continue watching. Would be nice if they bring back. 1 of kind. 🙁
Loved, loved Cedar Cove. Totally agree with previous comments.
I think Cedar Cove should return for a fourth season to at least give it a proper ending.
I’m sad that Hallmark “hooked” us with a good clean show then dropped it leaving so many things open. Does Olivia have feelings for Paul? Will Justine and Seth make it? Will Gloria be accepted by her sister? Will Sagat father and son ever have a great relationship? Does Will ever grow up???? I need answers!
I would like to see a Season 4 so that all of the loose ends of each character can be tied up as a true ending, not leaving so many lives just dangling.
Really Hallmark, you cancelled Cedar Cove and will be airing a month of Christmas movies in July? I love a good Christmas movie but think we see enough of them in November and December when they should be shown. Cedar Cove was my favorite Hallmark show, it was a long wait between seasons, but well worth it. I am really going to miss it. I don’t know who made the decision or why but will just say it’s a bad one.
I am very disappointed that the show was cancelled and left viewers hanging. This series was more down to earth than so many other shows that’s about drugs, sex and violence
I am so sad! I just finished season 3 of Cedar Cove on Nextflix and was looking to see when season 4 comes out. I really wish they would keep wonderful shows like this going! Also, to just leave us with so many unanswered questions is abominable. So disappointed right now.
I agree with previous comment about the fact that series regulars are generally aware of cancellation, the last season makes it look like the cast and writers were caught totally unaware. If they are awaiting responses from fans to continue – by all means continue, make the story line great and get it to NETFLIX asap. Great idea…NETFLIX only.
I really enjoyed the actors and series, I wish the last season could have moved faster and addressed new issues regarding character lives. An entire series based on the same problems (12 episodes) bogs down the story. The setting was the most beautiful place on earth. I would love another season to tie up loose ends that should have been tied up in the last season. Close-ups of people with anguished faces does not create an interesting story line. I will mis Cedar Cove and its people very much.
I am very disappointed to hear that but yet, another really good show is being cancelled. It seems like too many shows these days are quick to be canceled, and the seasons are too short. They are off the air more than they are in the air these days which may be hurting their ratings. Also, they may not be taking into account all of the viewers that watch tv through Netflix and Hulu.
I hate that there are no more of Cedar Cove. Shame on you Hallmark for leaving your audience with our hearts in our hands in the last episode. I’ll never watch another of your TV Productions. Disgraceful!
