Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

No Season 4 of Cedar Cove? Disappointing end…..can’t you at least wrap up all those loose ends for us?
Disappointed…no Season 4? Couldn’t you at least wrap things up for us?
I’m so disappointed, please bring it back or deliver a season finale movie.
Loved Cedar Cove! So disappointed you cancelled this wonderful show without explanation leaving so many unresolved story lines. Too bad it’s always about the bottom line $$$$$$
I am soooo very disappointed that Season 4 was cancelled with Cedar Cove. PLEASE PLEASE bring it back!!!!!! I LOVE the different series on Hallmark. It is my most favorite channel to watch. This Cedar Cove is so warm, loving, and so down to earth with the day to day goings on. It’s so nice to watch such warm hearted, loving and decent storylines. The actors are GREAT!!! I’ll pray that something will happen and you can bring it back!!!! I’ve told so many friends about this series. Thanks to all who make it the show it is……and will be… Read more »
You HAVE to bring back Cedar Cove! It’s such a great family series! I love the cast, the setting and all its relationship issues between family, friends and those we care for. It’s real life drama! Please bring it back!
Come on! At least one more season to give it closure! You owe that to the million plus fans of Cedar Cove!
It’s a shame that good family entertainment will be lost. Not everyone likes stupid dirty senseless reality TV. I LOVE Hallmark TV. Please reconsider.
I can see cancelling, but it seems disrespectful of the audience to not at least do a finale episode.
Please reconsider. I want to see more Cedar Cove and am crushed it is not returning. You may have a known viewership of 1.6 million, but many more, like me, discovered you on Netflix. I want to see this good, wholesome show return. Respectfully consider a change in stance.
I can’t believe Hallmark cancelled this show. I just recently found it on Netflix and thought “finally, a Hallmark show where the characters had real chemistry”. Why would you cancel a show without wrapping up the loose ends. It makes me hesitant to get involved in another series if this is the way Hallmark runs its network.
I can’t beileve you would cancel this decent family oriented show. Some of us don’t want to see shootings and violence on our tV. Some of us look forward to shows that teach good morale values and kindness. Why do we end up the losers. No explanation as to why it was canceled. I almost don’t want to watch Hallmark any more. Please reconsider.
I’m so disappointed that Cedar Cove will not be returning for Season Four. I loved that show and I have watched it from the very beginning. I’m very sad.
Ohhhh, I was really looking forward to season four! My mother and I are so disappointed! We loved all of the characters! Could not wait for it to start up, again. We only missed one episode, ever! Make one grand finale, please!
I just searched to find out WHEN the next season was due to begin as I realized it was getting closer to July 4, and thought to myself, certainly, the show was coming on any weekend now. When I read it’s not coming back on, I thought this made absolutely no sense whatsoever! And honestly, the viewership dropping from its original 2 plus million to 1.6 something, is still pretty huge and doesn’t justify the cancellation of the show! And, the subsequent dismissals of over A MILLION people PLUS individuals who TOTALLY enjoyed the show, and, watch the majority of… Read more »
