Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I was so looking forward to Season 4 of Cedar Cove. Please release it to Netflix so I can settle in and watch it in one week.
I loved Cedar Cove and looked forward to it on Saturday nights. Too bad it was cancelled.
I absolutely enjoyed watching Cedar Cove. I am devastated as to how it ended.
I want to know more and see what happens with judge Lockhart…
Just watched season 3 of Cedar Cove on Netflix. Disappointed to find there will be no more episodes. Please bring it back.
Please bring the show back. It was so loved by all.
Cedar cove was best program on TV. Please put back on!
I just rewatched Season 3 in prep for the upcoming Season 4, only to find out today that this beautiful show was cancelled?! Whaaat?!?! This was THE BEST SHOW on Hallmark! It gave those of us going through divorce HOPE that there IS life afterwards, and falling in love again IS completely possible. It was so nice watching characters my age work their way through life, in all its messiness, and show real compassion and caring about one another. PLEASE, bring this show back!!!! Or, if that’s just not possible, at least wrap up all the loose ends you left… Read more »
I think you need to continue with Cedar Cove
Not only is it entertaining but a great series
You have had it going for three seasons
Enthralled us so we now want more
PlZ reconsider and continue
I love this show and would like to see it return. You should at least give the viewers an ending rather than the cliffhanger of the last episode.
I loved Cedar Cove!! Please bring it back!
Please put cedar cove back. I love the show.
Cedar Cove was the highlight of my tv week I guess all good shows get canceled
I know they say that all good things must come to an end but I am devastated. It’s so hard to find great stories, winning casts, and decent programming. Hallmark has some great programs, but to cancel one as heartwarming as Cedar Cove, well it just breaks my heart.
I am so disappointed that Cedar Cove won’t be returning. There are so few shows with well rounded character development, plot stories, and great messages on air. These are the type of shows we need more of on air. If tv execs think this show had low ratings they obviously didn’t do their research thoroughly. There is a huge following of this show on Netflix. People are forgoing the traditional tv viewing and tv execs aren’t changing their research into ratings to follow this change from non-traditional viewing.
I can’t believe that Season 4 of Cedar Cove is not returning. My friends and I were looking forward for our Saturday night gathering to see Cedar Cove. Hallmark should bring it back. Leaving the audience hanging the way season 3 ended, leaving questions unanswered. If Hallmark is concerned about the ratings, then I suggest that Cedar Cove should be shown in late August when people are returning back from their vacations. I strongly recommend for Hallmark to re-concerd and bring back Cedar Cove. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! bring back Cedar Cove. We love that show. I hope that… Read more »
