Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I so enjoyed all 3 seasons of Cedar Cove. I was disappointed to learn that season 4 had been cancelled. Please bring back Cedar Cove and all the wonderful character actors.
Please let another season of Cedar Cove return to Hallmark. We loved the show and never missed any night of Cedar Cove for 3 seasons. We watch every movie on Hallmark and are unable to get the Hallmark Movie and Mystery Channel on Direct TV. We really would like to have more Hallmark and Cedar Cove. Please bring it back with the fabulous cast of characters!
I love this show! I’m so disappointed that there will not be a season 4!
I started watching the show with my Mom. I fell in love with it. My Mom passed away and when I watched last season it felt like she was with me. Please bring it back.
No,no,no!!! Please bring Cedar Cove back on Hallmark! We need to know what happens to Olivia and all the characters!
Please put Cedar Cove back on TV
I think Cedar Cove should definitely return one day
I loved Cedar Cove. Very disappointed there will not be a season 4
I am disappointing that you are not going to be showing season 4. My husband and me looked forward in watching each week. Could you consider a 2 hour special and tied up the loose ends of the show. Or just bring back one more season to end it … We can’t be hanging. I am reading that so many others loved this. I agree I don’t like all the fighting and all the bad things or t.v I love sweet and decent shows. Thank you.
i am disappointed that Season 4 will not be airing. My husband and I both watched this series. It was a clean and descent movie. At least could you bring a 2 hour movie and answer the questions that we were hanging?
My family loves cedar cove & is disappointed it’s cancelled, seems you always cancel the good ones
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring Cedar Cove to a proper conclusion. To leave us hanging is cruel and inhumane — words I had never connected with Hallmark before. Surely your numbers aren’t entirely accurate today — we watched it on a website I can’t bring to mind and then watched the remaining episodes on Amazon. We want more, more, more!!!!!!
I am a fan of Cedar Cove and yes, I wish it hadn’t been cancelled. It would have been much appreciated, to us fans, if you’d televised a 2 hour closing episode tying all the pieces together !!
hugely disappointed to hear that Cedar Cove has been cancelled. A show that I stumbled upon 3 years ago and thereafter looked forward to every Saturday. It should be reconsidered to at least tie up the loose ends from season 3.
I only recently discovered the wonderful series, Cedar Cove, which was created and presented by Hallmark. It was such an exquisite, positive, dramatic show which incorporated diverse characters, with realistic life experiences, while provided fantastic and humorous entertainment, and interesting drama. The superb acting developed real people with depth — both positive and negative human qualities and quirks. My favorite aspect to this outstanding series was the central focus on love, with each episode portraying individuals struggling with, and learning about, this most vital part of life, because I truly believe that experiencing and learning about love is the ultimate… Read more »
