Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. It is SO sad to loose a good show. This is a show that my kids will watch with me and I am not embarrassed by the content. Please bring back the show, lets teach the world what is a good show with Values!!! Need more shows like this on!!
I loved this show, it peaked your interest and the plot was very interesting. I couldn’t wait for the next week to come for the next episode. I am very saddened to see the fourth season canceled. This is why the old model of “TV by the numbers” has to go. Too many good shows get canned only because the metrics aren’t right. A lot of people watching, but wrong age group for advertisers? cancel it. This happened to Longmire, but luckily Netflix picked that up. I loved this show! It was interesting in its plot and the characters were everyday people we’ve come to know and love. Please bring it back. As others have said Cedar Cover is clean and wholesome – something for the whole family.
I think it was a thoughtful show with compassionate and caring characters, it was written with integrity and honesty. There aren’t many televised programs that offer that kind of quality and attention to a series of any kind. A show of that caliber can make a difference in someone’s life.
Please renew Cedar Cove, season four to allow us to at least finish the season. It is a rarity to have clean wholesome shows to watch. We all get together to watch Cedar Cove and are so disappointed it’s been cancelled!
Very disappointed that this show was cancelled so soon. It’s hard to find quality shows with good moral and ethical themes. Actors were great and setting was amazing.
Can’t believe they always cancel a decent show
This was my favorite show! I Never looked so forward to watching a show as mush as I did this one. I loved the fun loving characters and the kindness and innocence it portrayed. I feel it was unfair to cancel the show especially the way it ended. The last episode was so good and one of the best. Please reconsider doing a season 4. I miss it terribly and absolutely feel it needs to come back.

So sad..loved this show/series and I’m going to miss it badly…don’t know why it was canceled with 1.6 million viewers seems kinda stupid I could see if there were only 1,000 or do but come on please renew this show! Faithful viewer!
