Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Rude Rude Rude — at least tell us what Olivia thinks of Paul. There are so many story lines to follow.
Disappointed!
Have been waiting for season 4, thinking IT would be the last season. Then started seeing characters appear in other shows and began to think something was up.
Always sad to see a series end, but at least let it wind down…don’t leave us hanging.
Hallmark could have at least produced a two hour episode to wind things up, or was season 4 produced and available on cd? Just not aired?
Very disappointed and skeptical to start another Hallmark series.
Will Chesapeake Shores end the same way……….?
I couldn’t watch anymore because my network no longer carried it, maybe that is why viewership dropped. Other networks might have done the same thing
Could we at least see a wrap up movie edition following the books?
So typical of the Hallmark Channel to get us interested in a series and then end it. At least have a normal ending so that it can go in peace. I won’t be watching anything Hallmark puts out anymore.
I agree! Leaving the faithful viewer hanging is just awful. Why would we ever invest again?
I really liked Cedar Cove. I was sad to see it cancelled.
What a disappointment that Cedar Cove is not returning! What is wrong with Hallmark? I loved this show and have been waiting for it’s return! So sad for loyal viewers!
Cedar Cove was so much better than this replacement show with Jessie Metcalf. Sorry that it won’t be returning.
What was up with the new Good Witch show, Cassie chasing after the doctor is not her style. I was ready to shut off after an hour
Yes I think hallmark should finish the series instead of canceling it after only 3 episodes
I couldn’t believe my misfortune that there is no more Cedar Cover. I had read all the books and was thoroughly enjoying the television series. Such a shame to not continue the show. I am very disappointed Hallmark!
I was waiting and finally checked, only to discover that Cedar Cove has been cancelled!! Noooo! I loved this show.
I was really disappointed when the series was cancelled and think it should have at least had some kind of closure. How can you just cancel a T.V. show that left such a huge cliff hanger at the end??? I loved the whole feel of the series and felt that the cast was incredible! I would love to see them run a finale at least. I am hesitant to start another series with Hallmark if they are just going to leave it open ended. Despite the fact that the ratings were dropping, there were still many devoted viewers. What about… Read more »
I have really enjoyed the Crdar Cove series & am finishing the third (final) season on dvdI’m very sad there is not a continuation as is assumed in the last episodeWould love to see it all continue
i absolutely love watching cedar cove. The characters were just starting to develop meaningful relationships and gaining viewers attentions. It would be a shame to end such a good show.
