After four seasons on Tuesday nights, the popular Chicago Fire TV show is being moved to Thursday nights — a very competitive evening for network television. Will this NBC drama’s audience follow this series to a new night? Will the ratings fall or rise? Cancelled or renewed for season seven? Stay tuned. *Update below.
Chicago Fire follows the personal lives and work lives of the Chicago paramedics and firefighters working on Engine 51, Truck 81, Ambulance, and Battalion 25. No occupation is more stressful or dangerous, yet so rewarding and exhilarating. These courageous men and women forge headfirst into danger when everyone else is running the other way. The TV show’s cast includes Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Monica Raymund, Eamonn Walker, David Eigenberg, Joe Minoso, Yuri Sardarov, Christian Stolte, Kara Killmer, and Miranda Rae Mayo. Recurring players include Randy Flagler, Anthony Ferraris, and DuShon Brown.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/11 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The fifth season of Chicago Fire averaged a 1.52 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.05 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Chicago Fire TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a seventh season on NBC?
5/9/18 update: NBC has renewed Chicago Fire for a seventh season for the 2018-19 season. Details here.
Love the show. Hope it continues for more seasons.
I love Fire, P.D. and Med but Fire is my favorite! I’ve been watching since season one. Please keep it coming!
Bring back Chicago Justice 2. It’s good. It should have been renewed 4 more seasons. It’s good like the other ones.
Renew all the Chicago shows. Love them. C is my fav but love them all.
Chicago fire has been the same since the first episode of the first season…. excellent. As have all the other Chicagoverse shows. My favorite is Chicago PD but Fire ain’t far behind. Like most others here I’d really like to see many more seasons of them all, including Chicago Justice. I was very upset when Justice wasn’t renewed for a second season. It was the least favorite of them all for me compared to PD but PD is still a fantastic show. But as this page relates to Fire I say… YES MORE PLEASE! 🙂
Keep Chicago Fire ON!! PLEASE!!!❤
I have been watching Chicago Fire since I was 12, Its the first ever show I actully fell in love with so I really want Chicago Fire to have many more seasons
Chicago Fire is the best! I look forward to it every week and I watch all reruns! Please keep it going for many years to come!!! The Chicago Fire, Pd and Med series are the best thing on TV! Please renew them all!
Chicago Fire is the BEST!!! Please renew for Season 7 and many more after that!! The Chicago series are awesome!! Keep them going…PLEASE!! Especially Chicago Fire. I hope you do consider all of our input! Thank you!
Chicago fire is the best show ever!!! Please have more seasons coming!! better than station 19. Love chicago fire. Please Renew!!
Chicago fire is the best. Please renew for several more seasons. It is a very well written and acted show. Also a very good tribute to our firefighters. Their personal lives are very challenging.
I LOVE the Chicago series and Fire is my favorite! I’ve watched this show since the series premier and haven’t missed an episode. However, I don’t know how the data could be captured, but MANY people I’m sure, including myself, watch the episodes off live air on subscription outlets such as Hulu. I rarely watch TV during the week and catch up on my shows when I have time on weekends. Basing a shows ratings on live air viewers is not exactly a fair judgement for the show’s future!
I totally agree with what you say. Collected viewer numbers should not be based on live figures alone. Data also needs to be collected from non live air sources too. 🙂
CF is my favorite show. I look forward to watch CF
please don’t cancel.
Do not cancel Chicago Fire !!!! Love this show , I will quit watching NBC ….
Do not cancel!! Love the connection between Chicago Fire, Chicago Med no Chicago PD
I adore the show and would be VERY DISAPPOINTED if it were cancelled
