From TLC:
(Silver Spring, MD) — Production wrapped this week on new episodes of TLC’s first scripted series TOO CLOSE TO HOME, written, directed and produced by Tyler Perry. Filming took place in Atlanta at Tyler Perry Studios located on the former Fort McPherson army base. Eight new episodes of the drama continue to follow the story of Anna, a young woman whose life is turned upside down when her affair with the President of the United States is broadcast worldwide forcing her to return to her modest trailer park beginnings in Alabama. New episodes of TOO CLOSE TO HOME premiere Wednesday, January 4 at 10pm ET/PT.
Danielle Savre returns as the lead Anna, while Heather Locklear returns as a guest star playing the role of Katelynn, the first lady. Additional cast members returning to lead roles include Kelly Sullivan (Bonnie), Brock O’Hurn (Brody), Brad Benedict (J.B.), and Brooke Anne Smith (Shelby).
Expanding on the cast are new additions in recurring roles: Courtney Burrell (as Nelson), Azur-De (as Regina), Nelson Estevez (as Elm) and Angela Rigsby (as Octavia). James Shanklin (as Eli), KD Aubert (as Tina), and Crystle Stewart (as Frankie).
“Without a doubt, Too Close to Home has proven to be an outstanding addition to the TLC line-up,” said Nancy Daniels, President and General Manager, TLC. “Working with a master storyteller like Tyler Perry has given us an impressive launch into the world of scripted television and we’re just as excited as our viewers to discover where the Too Close to Home characters will go next.”
In the October finale of TOO CLOSE TO HOME viewers saw Anna right back in the small town she abandoned for a “better” life and seeking sanctuary with the family she’d turned her back on years prior. Yet trouble seems to find her wherever she goes — even in Happy, Alabama. Even her solid relationship with her sister Bonnie is threatened by her poor decisions. As the ongoing drama continues to unfold in TOO CLOSE TO HOME, it’s clear that Anna’s shattered life in Washington is not behind her and hiding is hard to do when the most powerful people in the nation want to find you. Dax and Victor become entrenched in a scandal of their own and it is possible that Dax’s loyalties aren’t with Victor or Anna, but with someone truly sinister. The plot grows thicker when TOO CLOSE TO HOME dives into another family’s dirty deeds in Happy and an ugly love triangle threatens to be revealed. Meanwhile, Rebel is getting into dangerously hot water when an all-too familiar face to Anna, Bonnie and Shelby returns to the town and has his sights set on Rebel.
The remaining cast returning as series regulars includes: Trisha Rae Stahl (Jolene), Alpha Trivette (Dr. Allen), Robert Craighead (Sheriff Mobley), Curran Walters (Mack), Annie Thrash (Rebel), Justin Gabriel (Rick), Nick Ballard (Dax), and Charles Justo (Victor). Returning as recurring cast are Matt Battaglia (Thomas/The President), Ashley Love-Mills (Valerie) and Christian Ochoa (John).
