Last season, the Code Black TV show started off with mediocre ratings and the numbers plunged in week two. It looked like the series would be cancelled but other CBS shows did even worse so Code Black was renewed for a second season — with some behind-the-scene changes. Will the ratings improve? Will there be a third season renewal? Stay tuned.
Code Black takes place in an Emergency Room in Los Angeles — the busiest, most notorious ER in the nation. The staggering influx of patients often outweighs the limited resources available to the devoted doctors and nurses who work there, creating a condition known as Code Black. In season two, the cast includes Marcia Gay Harden, Rob Lowe, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Harry Ford, Luis Guzman, Melanie Chandra, William Allen Young, Boris Kodjoe, and Jillian Murray.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Code Black averaged a 1.27 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.11 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Code Black TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season three on CBS?
5/14 update: CBS has renewed Code Black for a third season. Details here.
PLEASE, PLEASE BRING CODE BLACK BACK FOR A 3RD SEASON. I absolutely love a great medical show & code black is a GREAT medical show. I have even got my husband to watch & he only likes to watch documentaries about construction & science (not hospital stuff though). But he will watch code black with me. So please bring it back for season 3.
Please leave Code Black alone I DVR it on Wednesdays. Watch it the next day. I love this show. Great cast too.
Renew Code Black for a third season. One of my favorite shows on CBS.
Please keep code black going, it’s my favorite show. I watch it every Wednesday night. I swear there are worst shows that have been on for way to long, but this show is the best since ER.
I WANT A SEASON 3 OF CODE BLACK!!! I LOVE THE SHOW AND EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!! THE SETTING, THE STORY LINES AND THE ACTORS!!! PLEASE KEEP IT ON DONT CANCEL IT
My favorite show for sure! Keep it on. Rob Lowe has been a great addition,
Really hope they won’t cancel it. It’s one of the best medical shows since ER, and they could bring back Dr Hudson and Dr Lorenson for season 3, actually explain why they left. Worse shows have been going on for many seasons now…
Great show just binged watched 10 episodes this weekend. Love it!!! Hope it comes back for another season.
This show is one of my favorites and look forward to watching. Great characters and acting. Fantastic story lines. It would hate for it to be canceled.
I wait for this show every week. It is the best show ever, period !
I love this show! Keep it coming please.
I love this show, although I’ve never seen a show with such a high turnover of characters–killed off, disappearing from cast, etc.
This is one show I really like that should have higher ratings–like the old “best show you’re not watching” label shows are occasionally given.
Agree with Vicky–get rid of the stupid un-reality shows and make some dramas like this with awesome actors (like Marcia Gay Harden and Luis Guzman).
Awesome show love the characters
Bring it back cancel some stupid reallity shows
This show has made me feel a multitude of emotions. I’m genuinely connected with every character, I cry once an episode mandatorily. Twice occasionally. It leaves me with something to think about, something to look forward to every week. In love with the relationships and all. I hope it comes back for many seasons following the second. I’m begging for it to.
I love this show. It’s the bed medical drama since the short lived series “Monday Morning”. I hope it gets renewed but it seems that people are more drawn to medical dramas that border on being soap operas. This show is realistic & the acting is superb. I hope new time zones are considered before canceling it.
