Last season, the Code Black TV show started off with mediocre ratings and the numbers plunged in week two. It looked like the series would be cancelled but other CBS shows did even worse so Code Black was renewed for a second season — with some behind-the-scene changes. Will the ratings improve? Will there be a third season renewal? Stay tuned.
Code Black takes place in an Emergency Room in Los Angeles — the busiest, most notorious ER in the nation. The staggering influx of patients often outweighs the limited resources available to the devoted doctors and nurses who work there, creating a condition known as Code Black. In season two, the cast includes Marcia Gay Harden, Rob Lowe, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Harry Ford, Luis Guzman, Melanie Chandra, William Allen Young, Boris Kodjoe, and Jillian Murray.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Code Black averaged a 1.27 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.11 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Code Black TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season three on CBS?

Code Black is my favorite show behind Criminal Minds. I hope it’s not cancelled as some of my other shows were. I guess if you’re over 49, the networks don’t care what you like.
I love code black. Its a realistic show and everyday happenings thats whats so good about it. It keeps you interested so you look forward to the next episode.
My wife and I love this show. I guess CBS will put on more sitcoms. This way the viewers will not have to think. My wife and I are drifting from CBS and will not look at any new shows on that network.
