Last season, the Code Black TV show started off with mediocre ratings and the numbers plunged in week two. It looked like the series would be cancelled but other CBS shows did even worse so Code Black was renewed for a second season — with some behind-the-scene changes. Will the ratings improve? Will there be a third season renewal? Stay tuned.
Code Black takes place in an Emergency Room in Los Angeles — the busiest, most notorious ER in the nation. The staggering influx of patients often outweighs the limited resources available to the devoted doctors and nurses who work there, creating a condition known as Code Black. In season two, the cast includes Marcia Gay Harden, Rob Lowe, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Harry Ford, Luis Guzman, Melanie Chandra, William Allen Young, Boris Kodjoe, and Jillian Murray.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Code Black averaged a 1.27 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.11 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.

Please renew. Great characters and story lines. We have watched since 1st episode and think it is one of the best on tv currently. It can be gritty, heartbreaking and tender on any given episode. Please don’t give up on this show!

Please renew. Excellent show. ALthough not happy when you kill off great cast members such as Heather and the other two doctors.
Please renew this show. It is one of the best shows on TV right now. In particular episode Unfinished Buisness. Unbelievably well written. Please don’t cancel. We are finally just getting to know some of the characters, and the addition of Rob Lowe was genius! Love him!
Definitely should be renewed. Wednesday’s Part 1 Season 2 Finale was unbelievable, exciting, sad (Heather’s death), loving (especially the father/daughter dance). Please keep Code Black for Season 3 and maybe Season 4 too.
Absolutely one of the best written series on TV in a long time with fantastic performances. Please please renew.
