TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?

I love Code Black. I never miss an episode. This show is better than some that aren’t being cancelled. Please bring it back for the 3rd Season.
I really liked the show and the actors & actresses. I’m not happy with the cancellation.
One of the best shows on TV. Cancellation a stupid move; the big bucks decision-makers at the networks care about the money issues first, quality of goods a distant runner-up. Eventually the major networks will totally succumb to dumbing down American viewers. Sad.
I’m very disappointed this show has been canceled. Its one of the best shows on network T.V. Please, please let it get picked up by another network!
I can’t believe this great show has been canceled!! What is wrong with you people? It has been in the top ten!!!
My husband and I are going to miss this show. I wish they would keep it. Everyone is great on the show and make it very real.
NO!! My husband and I just started watching the show and got hooked and now I’m reading that it has been cancelled. That’s too bad. It’s a great show.
What a shame to cancel such a wonderful show. Each week the show reaches every possible emotion. The cast is great, especially with the addition of Rob Lowe. Please, CBS, change your minds on the one. Such a quality show should not be cancelled… Please keep CODE BLACK.
The viewers of this show know how great it is. It’s a shame that the the network doesn’t see what we see. Whether a show survives is not just the ratings or a recipe. When was the last time anyone saw a show start way after September and it was renewed. The way that Code Black has been handled is a joke. Had this show been on sundays, like Madam Secretary, it would have thrived. It think it was on in the wrong time slot and wrong day. I hardly ever watch the ABC network or its news. Their shows… Read more »
I keep hoping there will be a change of heart on the cancelling of “Code Black”…it is one of my favorite shows…and one of the best ones available on CBS…Please reconsider and keep “Code Black” running for MANY more seasons…LISTEN to your viewers!!!!!!!
This has been one of the best shows on, holding my attention the entire time, spellbinding.. The problem is not with the show, rather its with the Network. How do you expect a show to get and maintain good/great ratings when it’s not shown every week, from the beginning of the season. It’s hard to follow a show when it’s constantly having its time slot changing or being usurped. This last Season proved that. Code Black‘s premiered May 2nd at 10pm ET/PT in the time slot Criminal Minds currently occupies. Bye that time most viewers were saying goodbye to the… Read more »
Like the saying…”only the good die young” it seems the saying applies to television as well… “ The good get cancelled”. It’s really hard to get into tv series’ when they are always cancelling them!! Guess it’s time to watch more Movies and “A LOT” less television!
Why does CBS always cancel the good shows? Code Black is one of the reasons I turn on the TV! Such a lose
Again, CBS wants to cancel a show that’s only improved with time. This is quality programming at it’s best. It’s a show all ages can enjoy watching. The ratings have been improving such, that I would hope and pray that CBS cancels it’s decision to “cancel” this program, after all, CBS is suppose to care, isn’t that your motto, CBS Cares. How about trusting the fan base for this program and give us at least one more season.
This was the best medical show on TV. CBS seems to cut good shows and leave Reality crap. They already showed the ratings beat 2 other shows they renewed so makes no since to cancel this now just when it start to be it’s best ever. At least give us one more season before you make a final decision, otherwise I pray another network picks it up and give it the chance it deserves. I’m like most people I may just give up TV all together because they never give some of these shows a long enough chance to prove… Read more »
