TNT has picked up Dick Wolf’s unscripted TV show, Cold Justice, for a third year. Season two is currently airing and season three will kick off sometime next year.
Here are the details:
TNT Renews Real-Life Crime Series Cold Justice for Third Season
Show Finds Strong Fan Base on Friday Nights, with Big Audience Growth
TNT is ready to crack more unsolved cases as it orders a third season of its fascinating real-life crime series Cold Justice. The series, which recently reached the middle of its second season, has become a Friday night hit for TNT, delivering strong demo growth compared to season one. TNT’s renewal includes 10 episodes slated for the series’ third season. Season 2 of Cold Justice is currently airing Fridays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). Season three is slated for early 2015 and will feature both new states and types of cases never seen on the show before.
Cold Justice follows former prosecutor Kelly Siegler and former crime-scene investigator Yolanda McClary as they travel to small towns around the country in order to look into murder cases that have lingered for years without answers or closure. Since the premiere of Cold Justice last September, Siegler and McClary have assisted local law enforcement in securing a total of 15 arrests, eight criminal indictments, four confessions, two guilty pleas and a 22-year prison sentence.
Cold Justice has averaged 2.3 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery so far this summer, a remarkable +24% increase over the show’s winter episodes. In key demos, Cold Justice is averaging 912,000 adults 25-54 (+12% vs. winter) and 676,000 adults 18-49. The show has found a solid fan base in its Friday night timeslot, growing its Live + Same Day demo deliveries by +13% among adults 18-49 and +4% among adults 25-54, compared to season one.
Cold Justice is produced for TNT by Wolf Reality and Magical Elves, with Emmy® winners Dick Wolf (Law & Order, Chicago Fire), Dan Cutforth & Jane Lipsitz (Top Chef, Time of Death) and Tom Thayer (Hitchcock, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee), serving as executive producers.
What do you think? Have you been watching this show? Glad it’s coming back?
Excellent show… Keep it going!!
Absolutely a wonderful show. I look forward to every Friday night at 9 pm to see this show and would NOT want this to be cancelled. I don’t expect every case to be solved but for every one that has been solved it sure has been worth the effort! Praise the Lord for this “TEAM” of workers who have given their all for the RIGHTS of the victims and the families/friends who have suffered so. GOD BLESS YOU ALL! Sincerely, Gretchen Clay
Loved the show so much that I watched reruns repeatedly and am missing it on on demand. I would think it would be an excellent training program for people entering the field of cold cases. They are so generous about letting the credit go to the local law people.
I have talked to the Monroe County Sheriff’s department in Monroe, Mi. and told them about your show and they did sound interested but you never know. There was a 5 year old girl murdered there in 2009 with no arrests or person’s of interests. Her name is Nevaeh Buchanan and she disappeared from her home in May of 2009 and her body was found incased in cement by the River Raisin 11 days later. I was hoping you could look into this but know you need their permission. Just talked to the detective but said he would talk to… Read more »
This show is boring, the women on the show are starting to look like bad actors more and more. This show would be cancelled by any other network. It is only because Dick Wolf is associated with it that keeps it on the air. TNT is falling apart and is turning into such a random network. Sad.
Nobody is forcing you to watch it are they? For 1 person whom doesn’t like this show we have hundreds of others who do!!!
I love this show & happy it was renewed. Kelly and Yolanda are inspiration to woman everywhere especially for those who are looking into new career paths.
Best news I have read on the internet in some time! So glad the gals will be back… and also very happy to hear that crimes other than in Texas will have a chance with them! Keep it up TNT!
Love the show! So glad it is coming back!
Been looking for this show for a while now…I love it. Glad its coming back on.
i love the show, it helps to differ from tv crime drama show to reality tv show to see how it takes that long to do the process, interviewing all kinds of people, evidence, dicussion which i knew that it takes a lot of time rather than in an hour show which we know it is impossible.. i truly hope it will come back for third season!!
Like the show very much. I will continue to watch. Thank you for renewing.
what happened to cold justice please put it back o your nuts if you cancelled this program and the person who decided to cancel this program needs fired

Love this show, watched seasons 1 & 2 and can’t wait for season 3, keep them coming!
It has really become one of my favorites. I was unaware of the first season but didn’t miss an episode of the second. Thrilled it’s coming back.
My daughter and I love this show. It should be on primetime! Kelly and Yolanda are great!
