Criminal Minds Renewed for Season 13 on CBS
The BAU remains on the case. CBS announced today it has renewed its Criminal Minds TV show for a 13th season. According to the press release, this renewal marks The Tiffany Network’s 19th series returning in the 2017-2018 season.
The 12 season of Criminal Minds stars Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez, and Damon Gupton. Mark Gordon, Erica Messer, and Breen Frazier executive produce for ABC Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.
Airing on the CBS television network, season 12 of Criminal Minds is averaging a 1.39 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.49 million viewers. This whole Spencer in prison arc has been painful in a bad way. It has not been interesting at all. Please change it up, the new cast members are not the reason less people are watching the show. The writers missed a huge opportunity when they wrote Mandy’s death. They could have used him as someone who turned into a serial killer himself due to all he saw and dealt with. He would have been a smart serial killer too, harder to catch and a huge relevation when finally caught.
Yes I will watch only if at the very least the major gang is back; Prentiss, Rossi, Morgan, JJ, Garcia but we definitely miss Hotch….your viewership would go up dramatically if this could be mediated and have the total cast the fans fell in love with!! Along with the new ones; you still are gonna need Hotch for a Season 14; and the very least Morgan (as well). Even if they catch scratch, then Hotch is out of witness protection…..even if they’re rotating regulars; it what the fans want!! And it could be as good as it always has been.… Read more »
They should alternate Criminal Minds with C.M. Beyond Borders. This will keep both fresh longer. After 13 years, it gets harder to create stories but if both are shown on alternating weeks, Not as many stories are needed cutting costs for CBS and keep viewers wanting more.
Criminal Minds is my favorite TV show! I positively plan to watch Season 13!
Criminal Minds was NOT all about Hotch. Although, I do like the character and miss his leadership. I think that the low ratings are more related to extremely poor writing this season. Aishya Tylor and Damon Gupton’s roles are so incredibly unimpressive that their addition to the cast has made minimal positive impact to the show. And Paget Brewster, why does she keep coming and going? Enough already. Not to mention the Reid in prison story line, dragging that out for an entire season was not the smartest idea. I have continued to watch even though the nature of the show changed so drastically after Mandy P. left. His character’s ability to empathize with the “unsubs” was an essential element in the original 2 season’s successes. The comings and goings of various characters has of course helped to keep the show fresh and, of course, exciting. It has gotten progressively more violent over the years w/o giving a deeper understanding of the psychology of the violent people they pursue. Definitely going to keep watching, but losing Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore left big gaping holes in the show.
I ‘ve been watching criminal minds from the start . I ‘ve got all the season on DVD and it one of the best shows on tv please keep it going
I have been a tremendous fan of Criminal Minds since it first aired. I loved all the characters from Spencer to JJ to Emily to Penelope to Derek and Rossi and especially the leader of the BAU Aaron Hotchner. It was a blow when Shemar Moore left, and then to top it all off, the firing of Thomas Gibson, it was just too much for me to bare. the rating drop has proven that Thomas Gibson has many fans, I can not believe that with such low ratings Criminals Minds got renewed. Oh I forgot CBS can not admit when they have made a HUGE mistake so just add to it by pretending the ratings are as bad as they are. NO HOTCH NO WATCH
Won’t be watching season 13 without the return of Thomas Gibson. Don’t care whether he kicked or tripped someone on set; point being, the show isn’t as good without him. No offense to Mr Mantegna, he cannot hold Mr Gibson’s keys
Never watched it far to violent for me
Please bring season 13,14,15 and so on this is my favorite show love all the cast. Hotch, and Morgan need to come back miss them
I have watched Criminal Minds from its first episode. It has been my favorite show for over 12 years. I was leery when Patinkin left but ended up liking Mantegna’s character much more after only a couple of episodes. I hated to see Paget leave but found Jeanne Tripplehorn’s Alex Blake a fascinating character (wish she was still on the show) But as much of a primadonna as Thomas Gibson has been reported to be behind the scenes, Hotchner was the glue as far as the team dynamic.
