France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
I just finished watching the first season for the third time.. Crossing Lines. What a fantastic show. When does Season 2 premiere? NBC what is the deal? Can’t believe networks don’t put shows like this upfront of all the other crap they show…
Have been waiting to see any sign of Season 2. Enjoy the cast and enjoy the story line. Please don’t cancel. Believe it or not some of us don’t have cable stations at their homes.
I loved the show. Cannot wait for season2.
I have been looking for a new season to begin. It’s smart and the locations are great. It’s something different than the run-of-the-mill cop shows shot in the same US locations over and over. The actors are great and the international aspect is refreshing. I would watch it on whatever station picks it up.
Great show, just discovered it on Netflix. There are too many shows geared toward the younger generation. When I watch TV, its usually one of the crime dramas and if I don’t watch it then I catch up with the ones I like on Netflix or one of the other streamers.
I would watch it for sure!
I have been waiting for the new season to begin. I enjoy the intriguing plots and the many twists. Roll on season 2 do not cancel this show.
LOVED IT!!!! Please do another season.
I have been waiting, and waiting for this show to return. Please do not disappoint.
Great show that definitely needs to be picked up here in the US. Maybe now that season one has been on Netflix, ratings will increase for season two.
I never heard of this program until I discovered it on Netflix last week. Obviously NBC did’t do a good job of promoting it. Or was promoting it to the wrong audience. It probably belongs on PBS
I love love this show. We did a marathon on Netflix with it. Please you can’t leave us hanging in suspense. Season 2 would be great and I would watch it anywhere. Or even buy a DVD. Just do it. Great writing, great story lines and none if this writing going so crazy that it just doesn’t make sense like some of the more popular suspense/criminal mind type of things have done. Please pick it up. There are intelligent people out here in tv watcher land.
Crossing lines is a well written show that should be renewed for a second season. There are few shows that offer adult entertainment with excellent dialogue.
Yes, please air the second season. Liked Season 1 a lot.
Best show I’ve watched in a long time. Please air 2nd season – will watch wherever it is aired. Bought DVD of season 1 and can’t get enough of it!
