France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
Definitely would like to have a season two.
Please air it!!! It is better than most NBC does air!
Liked season one because it got better as the season progressed. The location scenes are excellent and the international cast does a fine job. Encourage NBC to pick up season 2 and air on USA network or try as a January replacement . It is a much better show than most NBC has been airing in January.
Great show! Loved its complexity, film locations, and actors. Would really be sorry to have it end after only one season.
Excellent series! Excellent writing! We enjoyed the first season very much. Please air the second season !
Thanks!
Streamed season one & loved it! Netflix should pick it up…. Network & cable tv are far to expensive & out if touch with current viewing trends. Think NBC…send it off for more seasons so success…don’t set it up to fail.
I watched the first season of Crossing Lines, and really enjoyed it.
I’ve been waiting for the show to come back.
I really like Donald Sutherland as an Actor.
I hope you bring the show back.
You bet!! How refreshing to enjoy the caliber of actors and story lines associated with Crossing Lines to come across the small screen outside of PBS programming! People are getting fed up with inane programming – paying for the privilege of TV (cable, satellite) makes a difference – The mind is a beautiful thing – raising the bar to what is offered as “entertainment” needs to be done and Crossing Lines meets that!
I found the show on cable and streamed all 10 shows. My wife and I are big fans and can’t wait for season 2. We find the series interesting and enjoy locations that are being filmed in Europe. Please air the show, so glad we found it .
I really enjoyed the first season, and would love to see more. I’m a big fan of William Fichtner and am supportive of any program that puts him on screen.

I streamed all ten episodes and got to this page searching for more!! Please a second season will be welcome and well appreciated . The series Europe locations are interesting and the plots are amazing! Also nice performing.
execellent, would like to see more of this series.
Please air it….This is a very good drama I looked forward to watching it last summer in 2013. I was looking forward to watching the 2nd season. I am disappointed that it has not aired yet. Please NBC bring this series back.
Air it, dammit
My husband and streamed it and watched all 10 episodes in 3 or 4 days.
The plot is complicated and we would have been lost if we had to wait a week between each episode. It was GREAT and we loved it.
