We’ve received several emails from readers who love CSI: NY and are worried that it’s been cancelled. Will the show ever return? The simple answer is, “Yes, it’s on hiatus until March 30th.” But, while the TV series hasn’t been canned yet, Gary Sinise and company could certainly be in their final season.
It’s no secret that the ratings have declined over the years and that’s probably one of the reasons that CBS moved it to a Friday night timeslot. It still brings in a respectable 10 million viewers each week but is one of the network’s worst performer in the prized 18-49 demographic, even when you adjust for the Friday timeslot. Year-to-year, the show is also down by 7% in the demo.
At the recent TCA press tour, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler noted that, though she loves the CSI shows, “Nothing runs forever. How you handle it, the most important thing is how you respect your audience, how you respect your cast, and being incredibly sensitive to how you wrap up any show when it ends a successful run. But we are in those talking stages now (about how to end the CSIs).”
It’s unlikely that CBS will end all three CSI series this year but they could certainly drop one or two of them. Based on the ratings, the New York version would be first in line to be cancelled.
What do you think? Is this the last season of CSI: NY? Should the series be cancelled or renewed for one more season?

I actually like CSI NY better than Miami. They could get rid of Horatio and company and I wouldn’t miss them at all, but I would rather watch Sinise and the case than the “Gifted Man” that’s been moved to that slot. Please cancel Miami before NY.
miss grissom on csi
keep csi ny and take off csi miami
Would love to see CSI NY return for another season.
Of the three CSI’s, it is the only one my wife and I still watch. I would be very disappointed if it were cancelled.
taking out the good shows and putting in crap , hope they keep the original
don’t ake off one of the best shows on TV….and definitely the best ever on Friday!
Are you kidding me?? There is definately a market for this show. CSI & CSI: Miami can go away right now. Keep CSI: NY it’s the best one of them all right now!!
I am beginning to really HATE the major networks. It’s no wonder that they’re losing viewers to the cable and satellite channels. I like all three CSIs – but CSI NY is by far my favorite. So I’m guessing that they’re contemplating dropping CSI NY so that they can put in its place another damn reality show or two more stupid sit-coms. That seems to be what the networks like to do best – eliminate all the great dramas and dumb down the audience with garbage. So go ahead, CBS, I dare you – show us if you’re just as… Read more »
Only watch two shows and that CSI NY and Criminal Minds. Hope they won’t be cancelled.
Was wondering what happened . . .I liked the Friday night line up and this Undercover Boss might not hold it’s weight. CSI NY is one of the better CSI shows and the cast is wonderful. If they decide to cancel, hopefully the actors will show up in new series.
CSI NY IS A WONDERFUL SHOW AND WE LOVE IT and we will be VERY UPSET & ANGRY if you cancel it!!

Love CSI NY. Please don’t cancel. We already don’t have enough good dramas on tv….but plenty of stupid comedies. Please keep NY on.
All of the CSI’s are good entertainment. I hope CBS doesn’t get stupid like FOX & ABC did with the cancellation of “Chicago Code” & Detroit 187″. Two quality programs that were never given a chance. I’m quickly approaching the point of not watching network TV.
