We’ve received several emails from readers who love CSI: NY and are worried that it’s been cancelled. Will the show ever return? The simple answer is, “Yes, it’s on hiatus until March 30th.” But, while the TV series hasn’t been canned yet, Gary Sinise and company could certainly be in their final season.
It’s no secret that the ratings have declined over the years and that’s probably one of the reasons that CBS moved it to a Friday night timeslot. It still brings in a respectable 10 million viewers each week but is one of the network’s worst performer in the prized 18-49 demographic, even when you adjust for the Friday timeslot. Year-to-year, the show is also down by 7% in the demo.
At the recent TCA press tour, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler noted that, though she loves the CSI shows, “Nothing runs forever. How you handle it, the most important thing is how you respect your audience, how you respect your cast, and being incredibly sensitive to how you wrap up any show when it ends a successful run. But we are in those talking stages now (about how to end the CSIs).”
It’s unlikely that CBS will end all three CSI series this year but they could certainly drop one or two of them. Based on the ratings, the New York version would be first in line to be cancelled.
What do you think? Is this the last season of CSI: NY? Should the series be cancelled or renewed for one more season?

You need to keep this on! Very few good shows left and this is one of them.
KEEP NY! drop Miami, it’s terrible. Sinise at least has a cause and is willing to share in the scenes; Miami is all about the red-haired guy. Ugh. I am so disappointed to hear this!
I prefer CSI NY to both the original and that freaky Miami CSI. I hope it isn’t cancelled since I watch only a few network shows weekly and this is one. I’m one of those people who dislike reality shows. So drama like NCIS and CSI NY are my favorites.
It’s terrible, they change the days and times around and then wonder why shows get less viewers. Leave things alone. I enjoy all the CSI series and would like to see them continue.
I want the show to come back for another season.
I really like CSI New York…..They have stepped up the character played by Gary Sinese……he’s more a part of the team, and they have made him a much more caring person. this made me a bigger fan than before! It made me very sad when I started to dvr it tonight and it wasn’t there. so glad that it’s not gone!
I love CSI NY and CSI Miami. These are my two favorite shows. These are two of the best shows on tv. I don’t understand why one or more of these show has to be canceled. They put on all these no good reality shows. I just don’t get it. Most of these comedy shows are rediculious. There are a few that are ok. Everytime there is a good show you look around its canceled and thing else has taken its place and is not good. I have watched tv become nothing but these reality shows. What has become of… Read more »
this is my favorit out of all you need to reconsider this there are lots o f people that really love tthe csi shows. we love csi ny and miami. what can we do to stop this?
One of my favorites. Don’t want to lose it.
It’s a good show like the other csi’s. Better to go while the going is good. Love Senise and the whole cast.
Love the show! Leave it be!
I really hope that CSI NY does not get cancelled. I did not watch this series until last year and think it is the best of the three. I hope it gets another year.
cbs does away with the good shows like csi ny,and criminal minds and csi miami, and for what? another dumb sitcom like rob?
please bring these shows back and give the viewers something that makes sense to watch.
OMG. Please leave all the CSIs on. I absolutely love them and can’t wait to see another new episode each week.
This is as good or better than the original. Gary Sinise is a champ.
