It’s the end of the line for the Dallas TV show — for the second time. TNT has announced that they’ve cancelled the new Dallas TV show after three seasons.
A continuation of the successful CBS series from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Dallas follows the machinations of two generations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
Year-to-year, season three of Dallas was down by 26% in viewership and down by 38% in the 18-49 demographic. It’s one of TNT’s lowest-rated scripted series and that certainly wasn’t a good sign for its chances of a fourth season.
In a statement, TNT said, “We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”
Cidre and the writers have been working on scripts and ideas for a fourth season of Dallas so hopefully she’ll share what would have happened at some point.
What do you think? Will you miss the Ewings? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you watch it on another channel?
I Love this show don’t cancel it!!

BRING IT BACK PLEASE
Dallas is a great show, give it a chance on another network.
TNT doomed Dallas when they moved it to Monday nights. These so called “TV Execs” who is supposed to be so “entertainment savvy” did not have the common sense to understand that you don’t move a show to a night that is already overflowed with shows that have been established. Not to mention other entertainment like Monday Night Football and Baseball, and WWE Wrestling. The only reason that I can conclude is that they did this knowingly that it would decline in ratings and they would have a reason to cancel the show. Yes, I would agree that some of… Read more »
Please don’t take Dallas off the air. If you decide to do so, I would definitely watch it on another channel. I refuse to watch any more reality shows on your channel or any other. Do you really think that American’s mentality is so low that all we can comprehend is reality shows? If so, then maybe we need to all turn our TV sets off.
I have never missed an episode of Dallas = ever! Please do not cancel this! I could care less what station carries it.
Please someone from another channel, see that we get a season 4 of Dallas. Have watched from day 1 of the first Dallas program and the new one also. Love Dallas and all the actors. Can’t wait to see what happens and if we get our wish for a return of a popular show..
I am s huge fan. Have the entire dvd set of the original series as well as the new series. Please do not cancel the series.
Let there be a fourth season on a nother channel.
Please don’t cancel Dallas. It is the only show I make sure I watch every week. If TNT doesn’t want it, please let another station broadcast it.
Yes, I will miss Dallas – I really enjoyed the show and so did my husband and my mother and others I have talked to. I would definitely watch it on another channel. Please someone bring it back. I loved the theme song also!!!
I am another “lifer” with the series. I think the show just had to many young people in the cast. the initial series came in with strength and power from its elders. I think I was in my mid thirties when that first show came on and I knew I would never miss another one. The theme song got my attention and I looked so forward to it each week, my time to get totally lost in another world. I definitely would watch Dallas again, on any channel, at any time slot. Miss, miss, miss it.
NOOOOO -LOVE Dallas – please don’t do this.
NO OOPS – so sad by this news. Please don’t do this.
