Days of Our Lives fans were in an uproar on Tuesday after a report surfaced that the series was shutdown. The 54-year-old soap opera airs on NBC, and it is one of the few daytime soaps still on the air.
Per The Wrap, cast members on set went to their social media accounts immediately to calm the fans down. The original report came from TV Line, and it said that the producers had released all the actors from their contracts and shut down production on the NBC soap.
Kristian Alfonso jumped onto her Instagram to show herself on the Days of Our Lives set with one of the writers on the show.

We’re still here #; ) #❤ #xo #days @carlivatiron @nbc #kindness lots of #love
Another cast member, Chandler Massey, also went on social media to say that production was ahead of schedule, so the cast and crew was going on a hiatus. With it being the holiday season, a hiatus from production is not out of the question.
NBC will decide the fate of Days of Our Lives in early 2020. It could still be canceled at that time, but for now fans can rest easy. The series has not been canceled yet.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the daytime soap? Do you want more of Days of Our Lives in 2020?
Days is the best. I look forward to watching everyday. I’ve been watching since it began. I wan’t thrilled with the time jump though.
Please leave DOOL on the air, I have been watching the soap since, 1972 with my mom, we love the show and all of the cast
Please keep Days, my husband and I love it
I have watched days since I little. I do not want it to go off the air. Have lots of memories. It is my down time when I get home from work. I watch iton on demand. It is great to have some of the new caraturs coming back. Please do not cancel it. I find it a show that it gives small life lessons.
so sad to hear of cast members. 38 years of watching days seems like a long unfinished novel, always exciting to continue to read(watch). hate the new go forward one year theme. hope it stops, but hope the soap continues. i have been watching since the year i got married, and this will feel like a divorce. btw, my marriage is still strong.
Please leave days alone I watched the show with my mom it’s one of many memories I have of her and the show
I love DOOL. It will sadden me deeply if this soap gets canceled. Don’t paticularly like the one year jump. I wish they would have just stayed where they were.
I have watched this show since I graduated from High School in 1965….. PLEASE keep Days!! I know all their fans don’t want the show cancelled now or ever!!!!!
I have been watching from day one I am now retired I enjoy my soaps Days is #1 in my book. I will say I wish they would come back to reality.
please do not cancel DOOL, they already took away All My Children and One Life To Live
DO NOT CANCEL DAYS OF OUR LIVES OR I WILL HAVE A STROKE! I AM 81 YRS YOUNG AND I AM NOT KIDDING!
Do NOT cancel Days…go down that rat hole & lose viewers AND sponsors ala ABC
maybe all the days fans should send small hour glasses to the network to show support, and add a note asking not to cancel, or start some other campaign somewhere online, nbc/days face book, etc.
Like most I started watching Days with my mom as a young lad in the 70’s. I remember Doug and Julie as being one of the first “super couples” of soaps. Seeing their entire history as they have aged has been wonderful. In the late 80’s I watched with my girlfriend (now wife) and have grown ourselves with Jack and Jennifer. I enjoy sharing the bond of the show with my wife, mother and mother-in-law.
please cancel enough already.
I have followed DOOL since the first day. Not ready for it to be cancelled. Probably never will be ready for that day. SAVE DOOL
