The first season of Defiance performed very well for Syfy. Will season two be a ratings success as well? Will Defiance be renewed for a third season or will it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned to find out.
This show takes place in the year 2047 — some 30 years after various alien races arrived on Earth. The town of Defiance (what used to be St. Louis) stands as an example of how humans and aliens can live harmoniously (mostly) together. The cast includes Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Jaime Murray, Tony Curran, Graham Greene, Jesse Rath, Nicole Munoz, Dewshane Williams, Jim Murray, Anna Hopkins, and William Atherton.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.56 million total viewers.

What do you think? Do you like the Defiance TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a third season?
9/25 update: Syfy has renewed Defiance for a third season.
SYFY is like that, runs some shows and cancels them. They did that with the new Gate series they had going, ran it got good ratings and then canceled it and tried to sell it. So now I don’t watch it any more. Waiting for them to do the same with Znation.
