Last year, USA Network cleaned house; cancelling or ending TV shows like Rush, White Collar, Burn Notice, and Covert Affairs. They have several new shows in the works and are hoping that series like Dig will bring better ratings. Will Dig be a hit or a flop? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? We’ll have to wait and see.
On the Dig TV show, a dedicated and headstrong FBI agent named Peter Connelly (Jason Isaacs) takes a job stationed in Israel under the guidance of his new boss (and occasional lover) Lynn Monahan (Anne Heche). While investigating a young American’s murder, Connelly uncovers an ancient international conspiracy — one that threatens to change the course of human history. The rest of the cast includes Ori Pfeffer, Melinda Page Hamilton, Alison Sudol, Regina Taylor, David Costabile, and Lauren Ambrose.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
7/1 update: In some promotions, the cable channel is encouraging people to watch “the entire series” on demand — an indication that the show is over.
Final season averages: 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.21 million total viewers.

What do you think? Do you like the Dig TV series? Do you think that it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Ratings is not the way to determine viewers anymore. Folks do not have to watch on date scheduled. We work, travel etc and can watch tv show on another day. I reall love this show. Please another season !!!
Megan,
I agree with you. For years ratings have ignored the fact that many viewers record shows or like me with ‘Dig,’ I watch it online because I don’t have cable. Also the 18-49 viewers who they count. Do the networks think people automatically drop dead after 49? The whole rating system is stupid and ought to be revamped or abolished completely. Many good shows have fallen under the axe because of it and we viewers are stuck with moronic reality shows.
I certanetly hope there will be at the very least a second season!! I’m addicted and literally just watched 5 episodes back to back and just couldn’t get enough! This show isn’t like any other on TV right now and I really enjoy learning a little more about different religions. I have a lot of friends from Israel and they love it as well!!!
I have been completely enjoying this show and while it began difficult, it is quite like being in Israel, it is difficult, but you slowly get used to how they things are done there. Also, it is nice that of all television in America, I believe this is the only one with subtitles, and I don’t have to use them, because I understand, and I find this comfortable and like home. It is smart TV and well written which I’ve missed. I missed Mr. Isaacs in Awake, which seems similar in many ways (Peter always seems to have some sort… Read more »
It’s getting better with ever episode. Please give this one a chance. It is turning out to be very good and it’s different. This one needs a few seasons to really get going and to fully tell this story. The last episode was awesome!!
I Agree – 2nd season please. I have traveled to some of those places in Jerusalem while taking a cruise. I love the mystery and the puzzles and the architecture!
Definitely a one and done series. It’s causing way too much controversy overseas to warrant a second season. Anyway it works better as a one season show – the plot is already starting to tie up. Ratings indicate already that people are turning their backs on this show after a promising start. Networks outside of USA don’t want to take the risk to broadcast it and they are absolutely right. I definitely vote to cancel it.
DIG is awesome show, i realy want a season 2.
Looks like this show is digging a ratings hole it may not be able to climb out of
I hope you’re wrong…despite the numbers from Ep 5.
From an acting standpoint, “Emma Wilson’s Father” had some GREAT work by Anne Heche and Jason Isaacs (his panic attack after the tragic flashback in the elevator was heart-gripping).
“The Well of Souls” (Ep 6) seemed to show Peter losing one friend (Lynn), but unexpectedly gaining another (Det. Cohen, despite Peter’s shenanigans).
And if the Ep 5 cliffhanger was a doozy, it was completely outdone by the Ep 6 cliffhanger!
“DIG” **does** have its loyal followers. Please don’t let us down; RENEW “DIG”!!
I agree. its now literally the on ly show i an enjoying. I simply can’t stand shows with no plot, and thats all most shoes are…just soap operas. This show actually gives you something to be excited about. I hope it gets renewed, but I think most people simply don’t like to think. Puzzles are over their heads. They just want to ponder who is attracted to whom.
quality or not, a show with a .2 rating , even on USA, won;t be renewed
As much as I want to like this series, things just drag. Ep4 takes a good five minutes until one starts to get into the episode, and much of that is either predictable and not in a good way or has a disjointed feel. While there are bursts of action, they often feel disconnected from the storyline, having just been throw in to appeal to the action crowd. The acting shown so far is mediocre at best, in that I see the characters as the actors and not the characters they are supposed to be. While the story itself could… Read more »
The UIPOD (United Involuntary Pirates Of Dig) would like to vote for the renewal of this show for a second series. We also would like to be counted in the ratings, although we don’t know how many we are. We also would like to legalise our activity by having paid (by us) access to Dig broadcastings (live or delayed). We operate outside the Dig broadcasting domains, navigating with our digital vessels on the Internetic Ocean, at great peril of having our ships sank by herds of Trojan Horses. All with the purpose of watching and enjoying Dig and the unravelling… Read more »
Dig continues to be watched by us with much pleasure. Having reached a major plot change in the last episode, Dig has now the potential to present 4 substantially succulent episodes filled with other twists and turns, and associated explanations.
Please renew Dig for another season or seasons
I can’t connect the pieces of the puzzle yet either, but then, if I could, that would indicate a very predictable storyline, (which Dig doesn’t have).
I’m happily sticking with it and believe I won’t be disappointed.
they show is predictable as to where it is going.I knew exactly where it is going part way through episode three, but won’t say. And I would venture a guess by the drop in ratings, that a lot of other people know as well.
Thats bull. If you know exactly what is going on, then tell me right here. I don’t think you need to worry about being right. In any case the more important part is how to stop it. Now hat it is.
I absolutely adore DIG. It’s nice to see that there is finally a show worth watching. Well done USA! Please renew DIG!
Agree.
This is an incredibly well-written show. It is like a visual novel in that there is one overall story arc–the show will conclude at episode 10. The End. No mas. Fin. Should there be a Season 2 (and there SHOULD be a Season 2), there would be a completely new plot, a new setting, and a new mystery to solve. In addition to that, there are subplots within the overall story arc. This is NOT a show that you can watch once and go: okay, got it. You HAVE to pay attention. I find I watch it one time to… Read more »
Well said, Amy :))
Amy, I so agree with your comments. DIG is such an improvement over the run of the mill shows that have absolutely no thought processes required! The more one watches each episode (more than once if necessary!), the clearer the plot becomes. The acting is superb, the scenery outstanding, and the storyline compelling!
Just finished watching Episode 4 and it is really getting GOOD! Give it time and things will come together. 2000 yo mystery is not gonna be easy or take only 1 hr to solve. Every actor on the show is strong especially the lead Jason Isaacs and Ori Pfeffer. I enjoy watching their interaction. Some rare bits of humor that were quite fun to watch. I personally can’t wait for next Thursday. With Jason Isaacs (@jasonsfolly) live tweeting along each episode, it’s totally worth it to tune in and join the live tweets. Hilarious behind-the-scenes, tid-bits on each actor, the… Read more »
I’ll be there on Thursdays, and on 4/4/15, for the “DIG” Marathon. (The first 5 eps, in order, plus a repeat of #5, “Emma Wilson’s Father”), from 5:30 PM-Midnight, EDT (4:30-11:00 PM, CDT; CYLL.)
Please, USA: renew “DIG”, so viewers can discover other countries’ buried secrets!
UPDATE: While USA is still showing the “‘DIG’ Marathon” as noted above, the 11:00PM-Midnight slot will now apparently have “Modern Family”, instead of a repeat of “Emma Wilson’s Father” (Ep. 5).
(Too bad, too: This ep had some great “backstory” work, more good interaction between JI & OP, a “cameo” of a character we’ve only heard up until now, and yet another crazy twist at the end (but don’t miss the **beginning** of the ep, either!)!
We love DIG, Rizzoli & Isles, and Perception.
Also Grimm, 12 Monkeys and Helix. Do not leave us Baby Boomers out of viewing.
Stop canceling great shows.
