Doctor Who officially has a new Doctor. Yesterday, Jodie Whittaker made her debut on the long-running BBC TV show.
The Christmas special marked the last appearance of 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi, who played the time traveler for the past three seasons. It’s unclear when season 11 of Doctor Who will debut, but it’s estimated to premiere on the BBC sometime in fall 2018.

I’ve been a Whovian since the mid-70s, when our PBS stations started airing Dr. Who during the Tom Baker era. They also showed all of the Pertwee episodes. I was hooked within a few episodes. Tom Baker remains my favorite doctor, though I also appreciate Pertwee’s work, as well as Baker’s successor, Peter Davison, whose work in other series I’ve always enjoyed. I was one of the few people who liked Colin Baker’s doctor, though I detested his annoying companion, Peri. Not being Sexist, but Doctor Who was always male. Don’t believe this is a good move. Let’s see how it plays out maybe I will change my mind once I see the new season.
