It was an underwhelming start for the new reality series. It tied with a repeat of The Middle on ABC for second place. If it dips in week two (as most new shows do), it’ll likely drop to third or fourth place. This premiere was less than half of what CBS saw from last summer’s Big Brother return.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Dogs in the City TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I just watched the season finale, because I wasn’t aware that it was on. I generally have a late return home, but since this show is exceptionally good, I would certainly make a point to be available for viewing, at least once a week. I could watch this program every day and never get tired of it. It is so educational. This is a dynamic program that will help people with their pet problems and introduce them to the world of pet shelters that so few know about. Please PLEASE renew this series. Above all else, don’t destroy the first… Read more »
I love this show and everyone I know does! CBS did it a huge disservice by not promoting it! I only found it by accident. How could this have such low ratings? Everyone I know on line and in person watches it!
I hope some miracle brings it back. Maybe Animal Planet or Nat Geo will see it’s potential.

It is refreshing to watch a show that is other than the norm……Tired detective series or sitcoms that are not necessarily funny. Something that is not only educational, but shows the brighter side of life and that there is good in the world.
Please keep this show on the air and bring back family television.
As a dog groomer who helps raise money for our homeless pets. I love this show also enjoy the nice looking dog trainer, Justin. 🙂 He seems very kind and caring of the homeless dogs. That is a real plus!!
Best show on TV. Please do not cancel. I can’t wait for the next program.
This is an excellent teaching program besides being entertaining. Anyone who has a dog can learn new concepts about dog behavior and how to train a dog (socialization, commands, and general care). Justin’s approach to training dogs as well as helping their owners is professional and caring. This program should be a “keeper” for CBS.
This show is entertaining, educational and charming. It is teaching my husband not to yell at our pups the way I could never get him not to yell at our kids. He came from a family that spoke loudly and critically and he truly beleaved that was the way to go. I am watching my beloved husband lower his voice and move rather than yell and now the pups are beginning to listen to him like they (most times) do me. They love him but when he yells “stop barking” they bark louder because they are supporting him. Please please… Read more »
I caught this show in the third week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Justin is great and not only is he helping people to see what they are doing to create bad dog behavior but he is showing them simple solutions all the while promoting shelters and rescues as great places to get a great dog. His teaching is calm and consistent and he demonstrates the importance of training your dog to be a well behaved part of your family that both you and your friends can enjoy being around. Everyone that I have told about this show has watched it… Read more »
please please keep this show! I love everything about it. Justin and his interactions with the dogs and the owners. I have really learned alot of training techniques and happily cried at nearly every episode. There are hardly any shows worth watching on a thousand channels and I will pick this one every time!
A MUST KEEP SHOW! The issues Justin deals with are universal and not just in NYC. He shows people that through understanding, love and compassion, dog behaviors can be corrected. Hopefully it will mean that a lot less dogs will get dumped into animal shelters!
I loved this show – so refreshing in a world of sick realities. Please renew and include episodes about elders and their dogs, working dogs, how do they train for sheep herding – so many stories to tell.
Great show! Justin and his cheerful approach to dog( and people) handling gives us all hope that owners and pets can live happy, sane lives together. This program shows us that pets can provide us more than just a wagging tail when we come home. These episodes are much more than a reality show. Please do not cancel.
I look forward to watching this show every week. It was nice to watch a new summer show that wasn’t a back-stabbing reality show. Animals are great, especially dogs, I’d be lost without mine.
PLEASE keep this show on the air!!! What a breath of fresh air and I learn something every epidsode. Justin is amazing and what a likeable guy. The dogs love him too! I have not watched any prime time TV in years. This is the only show I watch on TV except a small handful of cooking shows. I would be heartbroken if it disappeared. Go Justin! Great job!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE don’t cancel this show. I have not missed one episode and
was looking forward to the new season. Justin is really in tune with the dogs
and we need more shows like this.
