Last month, Syfy finished airing the first (and very short) season of Dominion. How did the sci-fi series do in the ratings? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season or, will it be cancelled instead?
Based on characters from the Legion movie, Dominion takes place 25 years into the future. It’s after the “Extinction War” in which an army of lower angels waged a war against mankind. The show’s cast includes Christopher Egan, Tom Wisdom, Carl Beukes, Alan Dale, Roxanne McKee, Anthony Head, Luke Allen-Gale, Shivani Ghai, and Rosalind Halstead.
In June, the series debuted to 1.96 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Compared to other current Syfy scripted series, that was a positive premiere. Viewership dropped 26% in week two but then grew slightly in week three and leveled off.
The first season ended up averaging 1.6 million viewers and a 0.5 demo rating. That’s on par with other Syfy shows like Defiance (which was way down) and Haven. The numbers are much better than those of imported shows like Continuum and Lost Girl.
While Dominion hasn’t been a runaway hit, it has been a consistent performer for the cable channel. On the other hand, Syfy has other shows in the works so they may decide to focus on launching those. It could go either way.
Syfy’s Ted A’Zary has indicated that a decision should be coming soon.
If Dominion is renewed, showrunner Vaun Wilmott said in a press call in June that he already has story plans for at least five more seasons. If it’s cancelled, hopefully he’ll share what might have been.

the greatest show of my liife!! . i can not explainhow meany of my days i have spent rewatching episodes and checking my d.v.r to see if a nother episode has come out…….. but unfourtantly yall have decided not to air the next series, wich has had me mindlessly watching other t.v shows trying to find a substute for the amazing show dominion. stil to this day i have not found a show or movie that can act as a substute. and never do i think i ever will……………. ples make another episode

i can not get enough of the suspenseful entertainment of the t.v show dominion i am lookkig forward to the new series if and when they come out
i think that this show is 10 times better than supernatural and i also hope i can look forward to a second season that i can enjoy.
i love the t.v show dominion i think that they should defiantly make seasons 2 3 and 4 mabey even 5 if we are lucky so i ask the prouducers that yall please make seasons because i really LOVE this show with all my heart
Great fan of the original LEGION. This series is good and I look forward to the next. It will grow in popularity.
I’d like to see season two. At first, I wasn’t sure to like it but it kinda grows on you and I’m curious to see what will happen next especially with Claire’s baby…

Please do not cancel Dominion! Too many decent shows have been cancelled and not given enough time to grow which is due to either bad tv timing or lack of advertisement.

I love “Dominion!” As someone else said, it is my favourite after “Supernatural. ” I am sooo happy to hear that it will be renewed! I cannot wait! ! Too many wonderful shows are killed before they are really given a chance. Brilliant! Ta, Syfy!
