As fans may already know, CBS has pulled the Doubt TV show from their schedule after only two episodes, making the show effectively cancelled. What do you think? Did the network end the series too soon?
The legal drama stars Katherine Heigl as Sadie Ellis, an ambitious attorney who falls for one of her clients, a pediatric surgeon accused of murdering his girlfriend. The cast also includes Steven Pasquale, Dulé Hill, Laverne Cox, Elliot Gould, and Dreama Walker.
Doubt premiered on February 15th to a lackluster 0.76 rating in the 18-49 demo and 5.31 million viewers — very low numbers for a CBS show. The series’ second episode dropped even further in the ratings, bringing in a 0.55 rating in the 18-49 demo and 4.03 million viewers.
CBS initially ordered 13 episodes of Doubt, which were all reportedly filmed. It remains uncertain when the remaining episodes will air, if they ever will.
What do you think? Have you seen Doubt? Was this CBS TV series cancelled too prematurely? Should the network have given it more time or, were they justified in pulling it after two very low-rated episodes?
M*A*S*H took a long time to build an audience. It was given the opportunity to grow, catch on and become a wonderful part of television history. Apparently times have changed in this instant gratification world. Unfortunately, it has become much too common to brand things as “losers” these days. CBS should at least air the remaining episodes before making a decision whether to pull the plug.
Please bring “Doubt” back…..it’s the only show that my husband and I both enjoyed together. Reminded us of The Practice and Boston Legal….both great shows, with interesting and quirky characters and rich plot. Please give it a chance to catch on….
I really enjoyed this show. CBS never gave it a chance. It had a great cast and each week I looked forward to the next. I searched the TV menu this week when it wasn’t on in the same time slot. I was so disappointed!
I wish CBS had gave it more time because Episode 3 would’ve hit the ratings higher. CBS, you’ve made a big mistake! Big, big mistake. What if 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 million viewers had tuned in to watch episode 3 and were dying to see the rest of the episodes? Would you let us finish watching all 13 episodes? Will someone please make a campaign on Change.org?
I mean, will someone please make a petition on Change.org? To those of you who are very sad about CBS cancelling Doubt after just 2 episodes, please don’t give me thumbs down. I’m on your side.
I’m really upset about CBS cancelling Doubt after just two episodes. CBS, if you’re reading this. Reconsider about airing 11 more episodes, please.
Really, air the show it was great
Omg I just found out about this show. Give it a chance and people a chance to see it before pulling after 2 episodes Really?? It was a really good show so far. CBS you pulled it waaaaaay to early. And Pure Genius was awesome but ya cancelled that too but 2 broke girls get renewed every year n that show freaking sucks. I don’t get it Pure Genius was new and fresh n not a crime show for once. But it’s gone. Doubt seemed like a good show but you didn’t even give it a chance or us a… Read more »
GREAT SHOW!! Can’t understand this decision to cancel. Shame on you CBS!!!
Typical CBS behavior– but I really enjoyed the show and wish it had gotten a fair trial. Airing just two episodes and then yanking it, is ridiculous.
C.B.S. Cancel Best Shows…….who ever is in charge over there at CBS ought to be fired and replaced with someone who actually knows what there doing…thats a fact…cancel a show after 2 episodes and puts on Bull a show that bores you to death
perhaps it two weeks is a bit early, but no sadness on my part. I didn’t care for it.
could have at least ran more than 2 episodes watched and found interesting but now will never know!
Could have least ran more than 2 episodes watched the show and it seemed pretty interesting but now will never know!
So unfair you have not even given it a chance for the 2nd season. Finish the 2nd series episodes, just pulling all the aired ones is so irresponsible.
I am not a fan of Heigl, but I’d read a review that encouraged checking the show. So I did and really liked it. I was very disappointed when it wasn’t on last night. CBS jumped the gun; it should have shown all 13 episodes. Maybe it can go to Netflix where I can watch the remainder.
Honestly I think it’s because of Heigl, her popularity is in the crapper, she kills every show she’s on…probably due to her diva attitude, wasn’t surprised to hear it was nuked.
