It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

Love, love, love Eastwick! So very disapponted ABC rejected it… Apparently they want the same old tedious shows … Well, one more reason not to watch ABC! Please bring it back! My DVR was set to record the series, yet there is no longer one .. It was a great show, give it a chance!!!!!! Please?!

I am so disappointed that Eastwick was cancelled!!! And to be replaced by Ugly Betty?! UGH! Talk about the most boring show ever. Eastwick was so new and interesting and I could hardly wait all week until Wednesday so I could see what would happen next….I’m now turning the channel at 9pm instead.
I loved this show! Only thing to look forward to on Wed. nites. It just got interesting and then they cancelled it; never will find out what happened to all of them after they went to the mansion. Oh well, stuck with crap to watch again……

This really sucks! I really like Eastwick and I don’t think they should be able to cancel in the middle of a season or without wrapping it up. This is Samantha Who? all over again. I should probably just stop watching ABC all together that way they can’t cancel any more shows on me. They should atleast make it possilbe to purchase the unaired shows so that those who enjoy it can finish watching it. I am so bummed out! Bring Eastwick back ABC!
Everyone in my family watched it eastwick was what we all had to talk about in each state with family and friends. I believe what happened with the big decline was it was airing and then ABC took it off for a while and then when it started airing again hardly anyone knew about it and thats what caused the big decline. I just dont understand ABC everytime people get into shows they always take it off air and then dont advertise the show anymore I have noticed this a lot and I dont understand the ugly betty show it… Read more »
Just have to add, everytime I turn the stupid TV on I see shows that are still on that in my humble opinion SUCK….no offence to those who watch these shows (and I do like some of these stars in them) but come on Cougar Town, Gary Unmarried, The Big Bang Theory OMG Parks and Recreations is Awful!. How many more CSI’s do we need to have, how many more medical dramas do we need. Mercy? Its been done, its called Greys Anatomy which use to be called ER! I have been looking for when this show is going to play again. I thought it was on Wednesday nights. But, just found out it is off the air. Too bad, I really liked this show. I do not care for Ugly Betty at all. I cannot believe there was not enough viewers for it. I found the storyline interesting and the characters funny. Wish it would come back on.
Good grief. What kind of garbage were people tuning into, instead. The ONLY two shows I made sure to not miss each week were The Mentalist and Eastwick. Of those two, Eastwick was clearly the most interesting. Oh well, down to one.
Eastwick was a very enjoyable show. I finally looked forward to Wednesday nights, when this show started. They always get rid of the interesting shows and keep on the worse shows. I guess there just wasn’t meant to be any good shows on Wednesday nights.
Really disappointing! How refreshing to have a setting with texture and a real sense of place…that is, one that didn’t smack of NYC or Southern California. The script allowed the actors to have a sense of humor about their parts, which added complexity to what could have been a silly story. So wishing another network would pick this one up. No interest at all in its replacement, Ugly Betty, which is covering the same old ground and going no place.
Yes i agree. I really enjoyed watching the show. A nd looked forward to watching it every Wednesday night. I was really dissapointed. Hopefully they will pick it back up. There are worser shows out there and they are still on!
Well I have reviewed many of these responses. The English..such as “worser”
and so many grammatical mistakes and errors that are used constantly would never convince any programmer for any TV station to place Eastwick in any time slot.
They would be convinced that the supporters are so poorly educated they could never purchase the products sold.
It is rather sad to see the state of those who do support such trashy programs such as Eastwick actually don’t know they are being deprived of fine entertainment. But then, ABC has long played to mental midgets.

I am very upset to see this is not returning I dont get much time with my kids hogging the TV but this is one show I don’t miss. Please give me back my one show.
Bring it back. I love this show. There isn’t much to watch as far as series go. Reality stuff is getting boring. Bring it back!!!!
It figures everytime I find a show I really enjoy to watch yall cancel it. I think tv has just to many reality shows. There is opnly a few shows I like to watch on tv, Bones, Fringe. desperate housewives, army wives,drop dead diva and finally eastwick. Not interested in Ugly Betty and how can that possibly replace Eastwick. Thankyou
